Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has the financial parameters of a new deal in place according to league sources, with the formalization anticipated this week. Seattle has put a new contract on the table of at least three years, worth $12 million in 2015 and $9 million in 2016. While he has been mulling retirement sources said this deal will be completed. Doug Hendrickson, Lynch's agent, said "no deal is done" in response to this report. The team is aware Lynch could ultimately retire after 2015 as well, sources said, and have made retaining the start runner a top priority. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer...-lynch-have-new-deal-in-place?FTAG=YHF7e3228e
Also heard that the contract has a stipulation in it that from the day Lynch signs the deal (which is a joke) Pete Carroll will only run the ball from the 1-yard line. $12M for a RB who may or may not have a bad back and for a RB who is contemplating retirement...lol.
The more times I read any references to Lynch being a shoe-in to score in the SuperBowl the bigger jokes Seahawks' fans are. During the season Lynch was 1/6 scoring a TD from the 1 yard line.
I saw a report that Lynch's agent said there is no deal. If they guy isn't running to sign a $12M deal, it's probably not a good idea to offer it to him...just saying...
