The Bears on Saturday reached the NFL’s mandatory 53-man roster limit by waiving 21 players including offensive lineman Josh Beekman, safety Al Afalava, special teams standout Tim Shaw, defensive lineman Jarron Gilbert and wide receiver Juaquin Iglesias. Josh Beekman shoves Matt Forte into the end zone during a 2008 win over the St. Louis Rams. They also terminated the contract of tight end Richard Angulo, a vested veteran. Other players waived were quarterback Dan LeFevour, fullback Eddie Williams, receivers Freddie Barnes and Greg Mathews, tackles James Marten and Levi Horn, center Tim Walter, defensive end Barry Turner, defensive tackles Edwin Williams and Mick Williams, linebackers Kevin Malast and Kelvin Smith, cornerbacks Cornelius Brown and Woodny Turenne and safeties Quentin Scott and Aaron Webster. Beekman, a 2007 fourth-round pick, appeared in 28 games with 20 starts in three seasons.
