i didnt think he had it, but they damn well better have planned on going for it if he didnt. maybe the rulle for feet down in the endzone is different, kinda like toe tapping while going out of bounds just kinda backwards. and the game wasnt exactly officiated very well at all, i dont want to hear it when one call benefits the steelers cause it definietley goes both ways
My first reaction was td but if I were a Ravens fan I'd have said no td. Very close call. Excellent last drive of 92 yards.
I didn't think he had it either and I don't think you can over turn that call, but when the catch is ruled that he has possession and you draw a line up the goal, it appears the ball is in...but I agree that it's too close to overturn it. They would've gone and gotten it, so the point is moooo.
I can't take this every week, Steelers need to move the ball consistantly not just at the end of the game. Oh well, I'll take the win and the division. Now we need to beat the Titans and Cleveland and get the #1 seed :ttw:
I call them the heartattack team. Every week they give the fans a scare, but somehow we always come back. I think the refs were giving us a make up call on the TD that Troy scored against the chargers. AFCN champs baby!
NBC had a real nice piece at halftime of the Giants/Cowboys game that showed why there was conclusive evidence to overturn the call. They had everything blown up with all the belss and whistles. If the Replay Judge had access to those features, I can see why he overturned it and called it a TD.
Just got home and I am Sober. Inhalation of vices starts now. We lost and it is not the end of the world. I will just go back to posting HeadLines!....:icon_cheesygrin:
Yeah. It showed the feet. Zoomed in to show they were touching, showed the ball and then showed a goal line view and an above view that showed it was on the line. They also drew the line across the goal to show the ball was on the line. I don't know what the replay official has to look at, I'm sure it's all angles and probably more than the viewers at home have, but the video and frames NBC showed, showed it as a TD. Was it indisputable evidence? From what NBC showed...yes. Based on what we, the viewers, saw...I thought it was a TD after review, I wasn't sure it would be overturned though.
I saw this as I was taking a break from watching the Giants choke. It was NOT indisputable evidence.... as was obvious by all four of the commentators saying NO you can't overturn that call based on those views... go back and rewatch and notice the line they drew for the "plane" wasn't even touching the goal line... there was grass visible between the goal line and the drawn line and it still wasn't clear to me the ball was even touching the drawn line let alone the goal line
You are partly correct. They all said it was a TD from the above angle and the goal line angle, but was too close to overturn. Which is what I've been saying the whole time. Grass between the line? Wow...looking for any angle to say why it's not a TD. Only a MM need break the plane of the goal line for it to be a TD...I'll go ahead and say there was no grass between NBC's line and the goal line. :icon_thumright:
Absolutely could it was that close. I think we are both in agreement that it was too close to overturn, but when you look at the tapes, it appears to be a TD that's the only point. The officials also have access to a few angles and tapes that the viewers don't per NFL Radio today so maybe he saw something that we didn't. I can't wait to hear the official explanation from the NFL.
