After watching the reps during the Detroit Lions' workout Tuesday morning, there's still no clue about who might win the starting quarterback battle. Once again, veteran Daunte Culpepper and rookie Matthew Stafford had the same number of reps and shared the overall duties. Culpepper was the starter for two team periods and worked with the No. 1 offense, including starting receivers Calvin Johnson and Bryant Johnson, while Stafford was the starter for the other two team sessions and worked with the No. 1 unit. I dont know mush, Culpepper looks better so far IMO. I know the money, but Stafford didnt look good at all last week.
Baptism by fire. Gotta get you money's worth. Think about the fans going to the games.. they are going to demand Stafford. At least I would with the prices that are charged these days.
We havent seen Stafford to Calvin yet since Calvin has been sitting. Im sure that Staffords arm is better than Dante's but Dante seems to be making better decisions, and after last year I think we need to win a game ASAP.
Yes win, I agree. But you have to show the future ASAP as well. I think Matt is going to explode in a good way this season!
why throw him out to the wolves, let stafford sit this year or until daunte sucks it up so bad they need him
staford is going to be the starter sooner then later for the sole reason of $ if the game against the Vikings game isnt soldout then stafford will start and so on down the line he will start the 1st game they dont sellout
eh, in the long run, stafford would probably be more successful if he could watch and learn for a year or 2 before being thrown in there.
Well of course he would benefit from a year or two on the sidelines. But, if the Lions start 1-3 they have to go with him then.
How'd that work out for David Carr, if they can't protect they might aswell let Culpepper get hit to pieces trying to earn a trade elsewhere
