Jason LaCanfora of NFL Network reports that Derrick Brooks spoke to the Bears this week and right now the team wants to assess their linebacker situation this week. Even though a contract could not be agreed upon, the Bears would call him if one of their linebackers would get hurt. Brooks reportedly wants to play for head coach Lovie Smith badly. & the McCheapskys hold the money bags. Unless Brooks wants to play for LS badly enough to take half of what he wants...maybe.
The Bears just need to sign him. He would be an upgrade over every healthy LB on the roster short of Briggs. Then when Pisa gets healthy we have Briggs, Pisa, Brooks. I can live with that.
