Texans Might Be Dealing RB Ben Tate To Inquiring Browns?

In the wake of rusher Arian Foster signing a new deal, there's been some speculation that the Texans might consider dealing running back Ben Tate. According to ESPNCleveland.com, the Browns have inquired. Tate missed his rookie year with a broken ankle but played well in 2011 behind Foster, totaling 942 rush yards, 98 receiving yards and four rushing touchdowns on 175 carries (5.4 average).

    A third round pick.

He was drafted second round so I would try to start there.

I would say a second rounder. He was a beast in his time replacing Foster and if I remember correctly, he was slated to be the starter in Houston...

A second was the high end of my first thought, but the Browns' second is too high from my perspective (a Browns fan, duh). If a third rounder and a conditional pick gets it done though, I'm good. If Hillis leaves, Tate has shown nice flashes and could pair well with Hardesty. We need to get the god**mn line locked down again though, holes at 3 spots now.

Peyton Hillis is gone now. Wouldn't be shocked if Browns get Ben Tate for a 2nd. Its a bit high, but the Browns like running backs and hes a damn good one. He did pretty damn well last year in Fosters place.

Plain Dealer reporter tweeted that there is zero percent chance of this happening. I'd give our
3rd though, which is almost a second.

I have the impression management doesn't really value the RB position very highly at all and will focus on just about every other spot first. They're in transition to a pass-first offense so I can't say I blame them, but it sucks to see Hillis leaving.

Running backs are like new cars. Once the draft is over/you drive them off the lot, you will never recoup 100% value on them. Tates a third.

I changed my mind...third at best...RB's just aren't that "important" or valuable these days.

That's why I don't want to draft one at #4 overall
