The Houston Texans have signed former Kansas City Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard with Pollard taking over the roster spot created by Pro Bowl alternate offensive guard Chester Pitts going on injured reserve after undergoing knee surgery. Pollard is a former second-round draft pick who started 16 games last season, but quickly fell out of favor with the new regime of coach Todd Haley and general manager Scott Pioli. His connection to the Texans is through secondary coach David Gibbs, who coached him previously in Kansas City. Source: National Football Post
