Tyron Smith signed a one-day contract with the Cowboys and retired from the NFL. It will be interesting 5 years from now. It's unlikely that they send to the HOF two Cowboys OLs that played together in the same class...Maybe if they had won a ring. I think Zack Martin goes first.
Hey!! So...the Draft is tonight!! It totally caught me by surprise this time. I haven't seen two billion mock drafts like in past years and I have no idea of who the top prospects are. The Cowboys should go after a top RB. At this point I don't care if it's in the first round. Get me the top RB prospect, whoever he is. We also need depth in the OL, WR and LB rooms. An extra late round pass rusher never hurts. What are your expectations?
With the Eagles not picking until last (SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!), and Howie always being unpredictable, mocks have them all over the place. Biggest areas of need are Edge rusher, DT, safety, CB, and probably TE since Goedert seems to be on his way out unfortunately. I have to wake up at 4am, so I probably won't know who they pick until the morning.

Eagles drafted LB Jihad Campbell from Alabama. He seems like a Zac Baun type player. Most mocks had him going between 10-20, so it seems like we got a steal. He's the first LB the Eagles have drafted in the 1st round since 1979. Howie Roseman has completely changed the way he operates the past few years. Signing a RB and a LB to huge contracts the past two offseasons, and now drafting a LB early. I like that the kid is from south NJ and grew up being an Eagles fan. I hope he ends up being the real deal and helps this young defense continue to be one of the NFL's top units.
Interior OL is never a sexy pick, especially in the top half of the draft but Will McClay and the Cowboys can't help themselves. Tyler Booker is the kind of player you draft, insert into the starting OL, and forget about that position for the next 10-15 years. A perfect replacement for Zack Martin (I'm not saying he'll be a HOF player, BTW). Besides, I will never question those decisions again after going nuts over the Martin over Manziel pick 11 years ago. I know nothing and I'm aware of that... Let's see what day 2 brings us...
The Cowboys probably got two steals on day 2. Pass rusher whose name I promise to learn to spell before the season begins, and a corner projected to go in the 1st round until he torn his ACL. Probably won't play this year. We have done it before, I'm not concerned. If it works, great, if it doesn't, oh, well... My only complaint is that they didn't address the RB need and we don't have a 4th round pick...
Eagles only had one pick on day 2. They took safety Andrew Mukuba from Texas. There seems to be mixed reactions on him. We’ll see.
The Cowboys addressed the RB need taking two in rounds 5 and 7. No WR taken but a couple signed as UDFA. Other than trading up in the 5th for a LB (another need) the draft came and went with no further news. The rest of the picks were OL and a DT in the 7th with a 4th round grade that I have no idea why he slipped. It's not like he's Deion's kid.
The Eagles did not draft a TE. This makes me happy because chances of keeping Goedert are much higher. I know he misses a lot of games, but the offense is not nearly as efficient without him. Everyone knows how good he is as a pass catcher, but his run blocking is elite.
Tyler Booker was asked in his introductory presser who he's most looking forward to face and he said Jalen Carter. I want to see that match-up too. Saw some of Booker's tape in college...guy is a bull.
Word is that the Eagles and Goedert have worked out a deal! Probably just one year, but I'm so glad he is back.
Ah, yes...Jerry trading picks for a WR is a tale as old as time. From Joey Galloway all the way back to 2000, he has been trying to find that WR that will push the offense over the top. Except for Amari Cooper who was awesome for a couple years (and then dumped him because he can't work the salary cap), he has failed miserably every single time. Remember Roy Williams? We already had a Roy Williams. He traded like 20 picks for him. And he did nothing. I could go on and on but I'm so tired at this point... I expect about the same as all other times. Huge expectations, but falling short...and then missing that pick next april. The actual definition of madness, man...
