As I told ya. I was at Batfest last night in ATX. And saw blue October, Flock of Seagulls and Vallejo. Amongst other bands.
The Replacements f--king tore it up last night in Philly. I had never seen them before since they haven't toured in 20 years. I was a little worried that they might not sound that great because their sound seems better for a small indoor setting instead of a large outdoor festival area, but I was dead wrong. They were loud as hell and tight as f--k. Perhaps my favorite song of theirs is Unsatisfied and they don't play it all that often, but they closed with it last night. Soooo good. I have no voice left and that "concert buzz" in my head still. Such a great time. Next concert is in 2 weeks...The Pixies at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park. Can't wait.
I Would have figured they would have changed their name to a flock of buzzards by now! RUSH was in lincon, nebraska last night.this was their set list. My f--king job called me about an "emergency situation" in Portland that requires me to fly there on Sunday and not get back to NJ until 6 pm the day of the Pixies show. I probably won't be able to catch the show now. I even told them about my plans on that Saturday and asked if I could come back on Friday, but they said my time Friday would be "invaluable for our collective group goal" . Ugh...I hate my new job.
That's horrible On another note I just downloaded an app called bandsinyourytown. Is checks the artist on your cell and then alerts you to concerts near by.
I just saw a just read some list of entertainers that need to retire and van halen was number 3 I think.
I'd rather see Van Halen in wheel chairs than 90% of the trash that is out there in the music world today...lol.
i just know i have to see sound garden. im a huge chris cornell fan, think the guy i one of the best rock singer/songwritters out there.
i saw van halen oct 30th,1982 in roanoke va.one of the top 5 concerts i have ever seen. also saw them open up for black sabbath in 77 or 78,they blew black sabbath away.
They're touring with Diamond Dave. And I agree VH is a lot better then 90%?of the crap out there. Also going to see The Toadies. Along with couple other bands. I saw the toadies 20 yrs ago in a small club.
hagar also puts on a great show. i saw him as a headline act in the 1980s,and stevie ray vaughan opened the show for him. hagar is a decent guitarist, but he could never be as good as SRV was.
Most new stuff that comes out today that I happen to like isn't played on radio. I don't think I've turned on my radio in about a yr. for music. If it's on its for sports radio. f**k I sound like a old curmudgeon
