andy reid is completely pathetic. his time is up. his arrogance stikes once again. we're running the ball down the giants throats in a very close game, a game in which the o-line could not protect mcnabb and our mediocre wr's could not get open and what does he do ? he keeps passing the ball while not giving winston justice any help against osi. i'm freaking done with reid. i've tried to stick with this fatass while the eagles have choked away big games because he gets outcoached over and over but no more. heck him and every cheeseburger he's ever wolfed down his fat throat.
In my honest opinion, Reid should have stepped down and taken a leave of absence before the season. You get rid of your only punt and kick returner before the season and use a guy who had had hardly no experience in Greg Lewis. Then you bring a kid back who didn't have time to practice. You are only down 7-0 last night, Buckhalter is averaging 7 yards a run. WHat do you do? You pass constantly. Your 2nd year offensive tackle is getting killed by Osi Umenyora. Do you give him help over there? Naaaa, i'll let him get killed. And I call bullcrap that Reid isn't calling the plays after last night's game. This coach is behind on the times. The NFC and the other coachs' playcalling has caught up to him.
yeah we won, but that game was pathetic. i have absolutely no hope for this team making the playoffs this year.
the gold standard looks very tarnished these days. can't wait to hear the freaking weasel banner tell us how lucky we are the team didn't move again or brag about how good they are at managing the cap. too bad they are managing not to freaking win a super bowl.
Dave Spadaro reminds me of the Iraqi spokeman who said there was no american tanks in Baghdad while you see an American tank running around in the background. Maybe it is just me, but I am sure there are others who post in this thread. I'm not even excited to watch the games this year. I was over at a buddy's house watching the Jets game and I usually get antsy because the team kept them in the game for almost all 4-quarters. I wasn't even phased. I just drank my beer and watched. This team just doesn't seem to be worth watching. Just a vanilla offense and defense trudging through mud. The only reason I get excited is because I have invested McNabb, Westy and Curtis in a couple fantasy leagues this year.
LMAO! Great comparison. I have strange moods watching the team this year since the first two games. I'm not really excited leading up to the games, but once it's kick-off, I'm emotionally vested usually. A lot of it is anger at play calling and such, but even though I know this isn't a Super Bowl team or anything, I still am an eternal optimist. At the same time I know there is impending doom and I expected the Jets to come back against us. I'm in a weird place with this team. Part of me wants them to fall flat on their faces to get rid of Reid, but at the same time I hope a light switch gets turned on and they right the ship. I just want to see one god**mn Lombardi before I die.
You are spot on with the way I am feeling Dawk. A part of me wants them to lose, not really for the Reid factor, but to show the management that they can't win with the standards & practices they have instilled in their philosophy under the Reid era. The receiver debate has been brought up time and time again and there are two samples that you can use to argue both cases: 1. The Patriots won Superbowls with average to below average receivers. 2. The Bengals can't get anything done when they have CJ, Housh and even Henry when he plays. I have heard the Patriots example brought up many time, but never the Bengals. I'm not going to quit on the team because I am not that type of fan, but I hate the fact that I am turning into a negadelphian. And I often think in the back of my head, "Do I really want to go through an era like there was with Rhodes, Ryan and Kotite?" It will be interesting what McNabb will have to say after he is traded/cut by the team. I'd like to read that book.
i think the issue is we all know that as a whole the eagles as well as mcnabb have dropped a few notches since the super bowl. it is what it is. we have qb that because of injuries looks to be 38yrs old at times, a head coach who has done an average job at best at drafting and in free agency. now i know some would attack me over such words and say reid has done an "awesome" job, just as well as 3/4's of the nfl but guess what, i want my head coach/gm to do just as good of a job as the upper 1/4 of the league, the 1/4 that includes the last few super bowl winners. and i have every freaking right to expect such results. whatever has to be done to fix this needs to be done. period. stop force feeding me your propaganda about how freaking great of an organization you are and how lucky we are as fans when the proof is there that you're not exactly the gold standard and you have treated us fans like dogs on numerous occasions. stop acting like you built that new stadium for us, you built it for your own gains. don't pretend you weren't going to allow food in for "security reasons" as opposed to you wanting to make more money. just bring home the frigging trophy.
I think Andy has put a good system in place and usually has the team prepared, but he's always been a bad in-game coach. He's become too arogant and refuses to adjust any longer. This year he seems like he doesn't even care. Perhaps it has something to do with his family problems.
I have to ask this too: Is Reid sucking Howard Eskin's dong? He's worse than Spadaro when talking about the Eagles. To him, the team can't do anything wrong.
I agree with guy who said that he isn't excited when watching the games this year. The whole team seems lackadaisical and unenthused; except for the Detroit game. Donovan said in the paper that no one cares what we do in September and October. But we always play well is December and make the playoffs in January. DONOVAN- WE WANT A WINNING TEAM!
They aren't going to have to worry about December if they aren't in playoff contention. If they lose against the Bears, this team is not going to be anywhere near the playoff race.
I swear... McNabb most be the most out of shape QB out there. At the end of the first half; during the 2 minute drill- he was huffing and puffing. GET SOME LUNGS, DUDE!:icon_mad: You never saw Garcia trying to catch his breath like that. :icon_rolleyes:
Evem if the Eagles pulled out the win, I would still have been pissed off about this game. How could this offense be this bad in the endzone?
