Lidge gets the Nats 1-2-3. Phils win their sixth straight extra inning game and wind up 2.5 back. Same as the start of the series.

 

Disappointing that they didn't win the series, but at least they got a win. Hopefully the day off helps this banged up team.

 

cant wait to see how this team reacts when they get everyone back for the stretch run. i mean it's almost comical to see someone get added to the DL every week.

ugh, so many injuries, supposedly howard's injury could last more than a couple of weeks.

 

Is Werth the only one in the regular lineup that hasn't been on the DL yet? Well Ibanez hasn't been but he sat out for his wrist.

 

yep, those are the only two. then when you look at the pitching staf as well. in reality the bench has done a very nice job overall.

 

why can't kendrick pitch like that every time? Phillies get mike sweeney because he is a righty that can hit lefties and will hit some bombs at CPB while filling in for Howard.

 

nice pick if sweeney can stay healthy.

 

What a tortuous loss last night. Zero support for King Cole.

Shane going to rehab with Lehigh Valley this week. If all goes well he'll rejoin the club on Friday.

 

Glad we won the series...not sure why but really not looking forward to playing them at Citi field. Can someone hit K-Rod in the head with a line drive? I really hate the mofo

Man what a game sunday. The interactions with the mets fans was memorable.

anyway, great pitching from the phillies last night. from start to finish. oswalt was sick and got robbed on a couple of what should've been strike three's. madson and lidge looked great. god would this team roll through the stretch run and playoffs if those two could give the team more of that on a nightly basis.

losing gload sucks, guy was on fire at the plate and playing great defense at 1st. hopefully sweeney can fill in nicely till howard gets back.

oh and LOL X's 10,000 at K-Rod. :icon_cheesygrin:

 

Wow! What a comeback by the boys tonight. 8 runs in the last two innings. Holy crap does this team have Broxton's number. I'm guessing Dodger fans must think of Chooooch as if he were Babe Ruth.

 

I have to say when chooch came to the plate with the winning runs on base, I thought he was going yard, and he almost did. Damn was a freaking comeback, shades of '93 when the Phils were down 7-0 in the 8th to the giants and wes chamberlain hit a hot shot back to the pitcher and the pitcher caught it and then smashed the ball down after the out was called. Phils came back to win. I freaking love wins like that. I get to go to work with a few dodger fans I know won't be looking forward to seeing me. LOL

 

damn that was sweet ! this team is finding ways to wins. whether it's pounding the other team's pitching, great pitching of thier own along with timely hitting or a great comeback !


time to plant a freaking foot on the throats of the muts and their smelly fans !
