Even though Smeagle and a few others might think that this division title will be decided in the last weekend, I don't see it. The club is banging on all cylinders. The Phils are a buzzsaw.
I hate that drunk me used that expression last night. Ugh. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Phils win again. 6 in a row. Winning on a KK start is nice no matter the opponent.
yeah, would be nice to see the braves tank tomorrow. Magic Number is 11. I think it's 9 for the playoffs period.
As bad as Fat Joe was in the first half of the season, he's been 4-1 with a respectable 3.50 ERA since the All-Star break. Hopefully he helps sweep the fish this afternoon. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Also just read this: Joe Blanton is 3-0, 2.75 ERA in his last 6 starts. The Phils are 6-1 in his last 7 outings. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Phillies win their 7th straight with a great 9th inning comeback ended by a Werth walk off 2 run shot. Up by 3, the Nats didn't record a single out against the Phillies. Bring on the Braves!!!!
What an amazing comeback. Damn, that was awesome way to cap off the weekend. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Another reason Werth won't be on the Phillies next year. He is now being represented by Scott Boras. Twitter / Jim Salisbury: I just spoke to Scott Bora ...
as long as werth helps the team win another title this year he is ok in my book no matter where he goes. if he doesn't he can go heck himself. :icon_cheesygrin:
Charlie Manuel on Braves' President John Schuerholz comments on CBP: "I tell our guys, 'champions can play anywhere.'" Cholly rules. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Braves pitcher Jair Jurrjens scratched from tonight's start. Rookie Brandon Beachy will start for Atlanta. I'd rather them go against Jurrjens than someone they've never seen before.
KKKKKKing Cole and the Phillies win 3-1. 4 game lead. Roy Story 2 coming up in the next two games. Bury the Braves.
me too, it seems like we always struggle against young guys who have not at all or barely pitched in the majors. Great win tonight. Cole is now under 3 in the era and we are just playing lights out right now. Hamels has an 0.49 ERA in his last five starts all wins a career best streak, and a career-low 2.93 ERA this season. He allowed two earned runs or less in five of his losses. **********Automerged Doublepost********** that's awesome and Halladay is the worst with a 4+ ERA over his last 5 starts. I hope he is not hitting the wall.
