freaking amazing. If the Rays can hold on, we will be half a game behind yanks for best record in baseball.

 

Rays beat up Sabathia. Phils-Yanks with the same record, half a game behind the Twins for best record in baseball.

 

I just want the best record in the NL right now, we would get to choose an 8 day series which would allow us to play the big three

 

That's the most important thing for sure, Mike. But it's ok to get greedy at this point. Especially how bleak things looked two months ago.

 

I am shocked really. That we would be playing this freaking good now and that SD would go on a 10 game losing streak. I thought they were going to run away with the #1 spot. I still feel like it's a dream sometimes and honestly that part scares me. I always wanted to be the team that everyone just assumed was the best. Now we have that and it is surprisingly unsettling.

I read an article where a writer - not a philly guy - said it's the Phillies world title to lose. Are you kidding me? we haven't even clinched a playoff spot yet. Maybe I am to ingrained in the past of this team and city to fully let myself go, but I just can't.

 

sidenote: howard eskin yelled and ripped into two callers the other when they brought this up. he said there's no such set up. then when informed by his producer that he was wrong he pouted and tried to spin it. sounded reid like in his attempt to explain his heck up.


all i know is the phillies could wrap this up against the stinking freaking mets !!!!

 

It sucks that the Phils have to go up against twinkyey tonight. They really struggle against him. I think the win streak probably ends tonight.

 

Phils hold off the Mets. Blanton pitched for the win...11 in a row. Winning streak is s longest since the 13-game streak in 1991.

Magic Number is 3 with the Braves losing to Washington 7-1 in bottom of the 7th!!

The arms have been amazing. Great game by Shane. Hopefully the bats will awake once the playoffs start. What an unreal September for this team.

Twins are like...hello...we exist too!

 

Sweep the Mets and clinch the division at home. That's what should happen. Braves need a win and they lose to the nats. They have lost 3 of 4 to the Nats and 4 in a row at crunch time, they might even heck up and not even make the playoffs and had a 7 game lead in the division just 2 months ago.

 

So jealous of the Phillies success with nothing good to say about the Mess, the NY Daily News ran this article...
