I'm going, but just for a few innings. Blanton's only supposed to throw about 30 pitches or so. After he's gone I'm rushing home to catch the Flyers and Phils.

ok, speaking of lakewood:

in 2008 or maybe 2007 the phillies drafted this kid jared cosart in the 40th round of the draft...he was supposedly going to be impossible to sign...somehow the phils got it done...he was a better OF than pitcher but if you worked with him his upside as a pitcher was supposed to be pretty high

well hes now at lakewood and is 3-0 with 3bb and 24k on the season

if you care about this kind of stuff hes a really interesting prospect to follow

 

Yeah, he's been very good. He dominated yesterday. Nicholas Hernandez has been great for them so far as well. As a team Lakewood is on a streak of 25 innings without giving up a run.

 

you just hope these guys can continue their progression as they move up in the org.

 

I couldn't make it.. I was going to squeeze in 3-4 innings but by the time I got alexis from girl scouts the game was already under way. :icon_cry:

 

Blanton only pitched two innings. They were perfect and he looked sharp. I left after 5 innings.

 

Ok, I didn't miss too much. Glad he wasn't overworked. What was the score when you left?

 

It was 2-2. The BlueClaws scoreless innings streak ended at 29 on an unearned run...ugh.

That's ok, I think they are going to be on top again this year.

 

2-0 works for now...sucks that they are on the same time as the Fly Guys.

 

Yeah, I'm going nuts switching from game to game.

 

Briere puts the Flyers up 2-1...2:00 left in the second.

Phils up 2-0...bottom of the 6th.
