The lowest I remember gas ever being was like 1.19. I remember people freaking out when I went over $3. When I started driving it was around 2.70.
when I began driving way back in the early 80's, gas was 80 cents a gallon, my truck got 9 miles to the gallon, could drink and drive with no problem.
it was like .98 when i started driving. it averages about 3.15 here now i go no where, so a tank last me nearly a month
For 20 bucks, I could fill up my tank and buy a case of beer. Then go to McD to sober up. Now I doubt I could do any of them for 20.
If you have a Vespa, buy a 30-Pack of Genny Cream Ale and buy off the dollar menu at Wendy's, you got a shot at accomplishing that for under $20.00...
WARD is a hipster. I dont remember how much gas was specifically when I started driving, but I recall that a handful of people pitching in a dollar or two on gas basically kept my VW bug going wherever we needed to go any given weekend.
those were some sweet cars. friend of mine hopped his up. would beat a lot of muscle cars. made it stand on it end once.
If SRW didn't slam the doors not as many would have bailed out. But I've noticed a few old timers popping in here and there. And expect once the NFL season kicks back strong we will grow a good bit. Bottomline, the hard core folks are still here.. The ones that count. And the futures so bright we gonna need shades

actually,i started driving during the carter era fellas. He liked the allman brothers and cher,so he was cool in his taste in rock music and women.
