Ian Rapoport, reporter for NFL Network and NFL.com, tweeted earlier today in regards to Chicago Bears defensive lineman Israel Idonije: "Speaking of the #Bears : They still want to re-sign DE Israel Idonije and are trying to do so. Must fight off the #49ers to make it happen"

Then shortly after that bit of news broke, Tennessee Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt tweeted the following: "In addition to Ropati Pitoitua, the #Titans have also shown some interest in #Bears free agent DL Israel Idonije"

With salary cap room quickly running out for the Bears, they may be hard pressed to get into a bidding war with both the San Francisco 49ers and the Titans.

Izzy's experience at both end and tackle in Chicago makes him an attractive candidate to continue that role with another 4-3 team, or to play 5 technique DE with a 3-4 team like the Niners.

The Cowboys are also interested in him because of his ties to Marinelli. Marinelli thinks very highly of Israel.

Solid performer but this interest will throw him into the 'over paid' category from somebody by the time the dust settles. :icon_rolleyes:

I wouldn't mind resigning Idonije for depth on the d-line knowing he can play both end and tackle. Lots of one year contracts on this team as is. Whats one more gonna hurt?
