Heisman Trophy Trust executive director Rob Whalen denied a Yahoo! Sports report that his organization has decided to take the 2005 trophy away from New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, who was implicated in an NCAA investigation of the USC football program. "Yahoo Sports claiming Heisman Trust has reached a decision is completely false," Whalen told "The Dan Patrick Show" on Tuesday. "The Heisman Trophy Trust has made no decision regarding the Reggie Bush matter." Yahoo! Sports, citing sources, reported earlier in the day that the 2005 honor will stay vacant after being stripped from Bush. The decision reportedly was reached after an independent investigation agreed with the NCAA's assessment that Bush was ineligible during his Heisman-winning season. Bush told new USC athletic director Pat Haden last month he was so sorry about his actions that he would give back the Heisman if he could.
