I'm pretty sure it's a supplemental league to the NFL, where certain NFL teams are going to be able to take players from certain UFL teams during the season if the NFL players get injured. Where's that thread that explained which NFL teams take from which UFL teams? :vader:
Even that's sort of unclear right now I think, but I'm guessing that's the plan. Which still doesn't mean it's destined for success or longevity.
If it benefits the NFL then they will keep it. Whether it has a lot of fans or not. It's gonna be brutal in that league. All those guys fighting for their life's dream...
Iunno some guys will just be playing for paychecks, some may even prefer the league less pressure, alot less requested out of a players every day life, longer offseasons etc etc etc, that why some guys jumped at the chance to play in the league. Ultimately if a player is a player he's going to get noticed and will have a chance to play in the NFL, they have tape on the guys from college. The league won't stick around if a. it doesn't expand and b. it doesn't make money. Just by the look of everything it's not looking like it's off to a very pretty start, the jerseys, the rules, the lack of information available to it's dare I say fans? or potential fans. I'll be keeping an eye on this league though cause I love football, now let's just wait and see what kind of on-field product it has.
If the NFL has more exciting games and gets more ratings because they have competitive games then they will keep it.
Wait... how will the NFL have more exciting and more ratings because of the competitiveness in the UFL? and are you saying that the NFL will attract a new fans because of the UFL? somehow they will get more ratings through the success of the UFL? or are you just saying if the NFL has a better season than last than they will keep the UFL regardless what takes place during the UFL's season. **********Automerged Doublepost********** We should have odds on which team does the best in jersey sales. One of our great bookies surely can come up with some fair odds.
I'm saying that if the teams in the NFL lose important players at key times of the season (it will probably take multiple times at the same position (a la Donkeys at RB)), then there will be a pool of talent that can replace that gap. The NFL is supposedly supplementing this league, so even without a huge fan base they will keep the league going if it helps keep NFL teams competitive with replacement players. I probably said all that wrong, but best explanation and grammar I can handle right now... :cheersbeer:
:Loco: Since they are all the same ugly mess, does it matter? **********Automerged Doublepost********** :beersign:
Thanks for clearing that up... It will be good to see when UFL MVP JP Losman gets called up. I really have no idea how this will work so it should be good. Oh but wait, each team only provides for specific football divisions. South, West, North, and East that's how it works right? Injuries are a big problem in the NFL, but I don't see how a UFL player that's been called up would be more efficient than say #2 or #3 player on the depth chart, or even a guy on the fricken practice roster lol. Not only that these guys that do get called up need to learn a new playbook, new system, etc etc in a limited period of time it would be no different than signing a free agent that is out of football but still works out and is physically fit. I'm not arguing with you, I'm just questioning the UFL and how it will work, I've clearly invested probably too much discussion than the league merits at this point just judging by the uniforms.
Talk about a way to cut cost. I was looking forward to watching some of these games know I think I will just read about the games. As long as they do not post pics.
