The April 28-29 NFL draft is still more than three weeks away, but the Vikings' preparations are about to shift into high gear. Vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman said this week that things will begin ramping up Monday, the start of two weeks of all-day meetings involving scouts and coaches. "The first thing we want to do is make sure we have the players in order and stacked the way we like them," Spielman said. "Once we get that process done, then I'll go ahead and put us in scenarios and different mock-draft situations. ... We'll go through five or six different mock-type situations where different guys come off the board different ways. Just like anything, you put yourself in as many worst-case scenarios as possible. Then when it is draft day and you're on the clock, you know exactly your course of action."
