Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder was sidelined by a shoulder injury in his team’s 34-27 win over the Redskins on Thursday night, but he could return next week in Seattle.

Ian Rapoport tweeted that a source said Ponder’s separated left shoulder was considered minor and he could possibly play next week against the Seahawks.

SteveRobWhatever's Take: Ponder completed 17 of 21 passes for 174 yards, two touchdowns and an interception before he was hit by Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall just before the goal line. The Vikings will have a better idea about Ponder's arm strength after next Wednesday's practice, at which point they are expected to make a decision on their quarterback situation.
