Bengals beat themselves. When they don't they can contend with just about anyone in the league. They're just too inconsistent but when their hot they could be dangerous. BTW, how the hell are Miami and Hou that low on that list? Both solid teams and even though Hou has sputtered, the new running game should make them hold up more towards the end of the year than in past years.
as a reminder, using a formula like this many times will come up with results that are contrary to our personal beliefs. There are many reasons for it: sometimes it's a fluke. sometimes the team has/hasn't done something specific that the formula is measuring. however, more often than not the disconnect between a mathematical formula and an opion-based formula are preconceptions and assumptions. a mathematical formula does not know that the browns and bills are perennial doormats. a formula does not know that peyton manning plays for the colts so "they must be good, right?" This doesn't mean that a formula ranking system is better than opinion, it's just different.
