Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith's name came up in trade talks according to Jay Glazer of FOXSports yesterday. Smith, who requested a trade following the Panthers' 2-14 season two years ago. After the Panthers 23-22 loss to Chicago, Smith said, "It’s getting old. There is a tradition growing here, and I’m not sure which way this tradition is going.†Smith signed an extension last spring and said he expected to finish his career with the Panthers.
