    RAW Results for 9/8:

Chris Jericho came out to start the show. I think he will work well as champion, but they really devalued the title in the way they got it to him. Jericho revealed bruises on his body given to him by supposed good guy Shawn Michaels. Jericho pointed out their match was unsanctioned so Michaels accomplished nothing while Jericho later won the title. Jericho described this as good things happening to a good person. He said that he outsmarted Batista to win, and now everyone must respect how good he is, better than Michaels. Mike Adamle came out and congratulated Jericho. However, he pointed out Punk lost his title without having the chance to defend it. Thus, next week it will be Punk vs. Jericho in a cage match. He further announced Jericho vs. Batista for this week. Jerichos performance here was good, but he went a little too long.

Beth Phoenix beat Mickie James. Candice Michelle was at ringside, and they said she would meet the winner for the womens title at No Mercy. This is nothing compared to the number they did on their titles last night, but it makes little sense that shes gone forever, scores one pin in a six woman tag and immediately gets a title shot. She also inexplicably giggled whenever the camera panned to her. Beth threw Mickie into the post. Mickie hit a huracanrana and Thesz press, but Beth used the Alabama slam for the pin.

William Regal beat Jamie Noble. Layla was at ringside, after Noble hired Jillian Hall to serenade her. Noble hit a spinning head scissors and Regal responded with an exploder. Noble landed an enzuigiri but his attempt at a running somersault senton fell into Regals knees. Regal then hit a running knee for the pin. Regal informed Noble that happy endings only happen in fairy tales, and offered his arm to Layla. Layla reluctantly took it and they walked off together.

Charlie Haas beat JBL via count out. Haas made his entrance out of the trunk of JBLs limo. He called himself Charles Haas Layfield, and the crowd chanted CHL. He made fun of JBL. An annoyed JBL said that he deserves respect and stomped off. JBL was counted out and Haas celebrated heartily. Batista and JBL had a discussion backstage. Batista thought Haas routine was funny. JBL said that both he and Batista are main eventers, and they shouldnt tolerate disrespect from these uppity guys on the undercard. JBL said he has nothing in common with Haas. Batista agreed, because Haas actually won his match on the show.

Rey Mysterio and Evan Bourne beat Miz and John Morrison. Rey has some new tattoos. Before the match, he said that he doesnt know why Kane attacked him, but that he will stand strong and will be nobodys victim. Rey and Bourne hit a cool double team moonsault spot, and then Rey flipped Bourne with a plancha into a huracanrana on the floor onto Morrison. Bourne went to the top, but Morrison knocked him off with an enzuigiri. The heels briefly worked over Bourne, but he tagged Rey and Rey came in with a double springboard crossbody. Morrison flipped Rey into Miz, but Rey gave Miz a huracanrana. Rey followed with a somersault senton on Morrison but was tripped by Miz when he went for the 619. Morrison went for a springboard kick into Rey but hit Miz instead. Rey used a whirly bird, hit the 619, and Bourne used the shooting star press for the pin on Morrison.

After the match Kane appeared on the screen. He said that he will face Rey next week one-on-one. He added that he chose Rey to be his victim. Thats kind of kinky. Im getting a Candyman vibe. Be my victim, Helen. Kane said he cho-cho-chose Rey for special reasons, and then held up the old Kane mask.

Randy Orton came out and said that it is a tragedy he lost his title because of the collarbone injury. He contrasted that to CM Punk, who got lucky and then had karma catch up with him. Orton posited that he did what he did to Punk because he was concerned for his safety. He felt Punk should thank him, because he would have been exposed in the scramble and beaten repeatedly. Orton added that Jericho owes him thanks too. He said that when hes healthy hell take the title from Jericho. Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase and Manu came out to take credit for setting up Orton for the kick. Manu noted all their fathers are Hall-of-Famers, so Ortons no better than any of them. DiBiase said that what they did to Punk was impressive. Orton slapped DiBiase and left. Presumably they are just taking their time in pairing these four together. I think that its a really smart pairing. Orton will give the other three credibility, and they can become a kind of second version of Evolution.

Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase and Manu the Wild Samoan beat Cryme Tyme and Kofi Kingston. The heels worked over Kofi with a Manu body slam and DiBiase double foot stomp off the second rope. Shad tagged in and hit a press slam on Rhodes and power slam on DiBiase. Manu tagged in and hit a neck breaker on Shad for the pin.

Santino defeated Gene Snitsky. Santino prior to the match said that with a three week Intercontinental Title reign he is already 19 days better than the Mountie. There was an enormous missed opportunity here for Santino to botch the lyrics of the Mounties theme song. He vowed to be the best IC champ of all the times. Snitsky then stormed out looking like the Warlord. Thats not a favorable comparison. Snitsky hit a clothesline, elbow drop and punches. He went for a kick in the corner, but Beth pulled Santino out of the way and he rolled up Snitsky for the pin.

Batista vs. Chris Jericho didnt last long. Prior to the match, Jericho confronted Mike Adamle. He said it was unfair for him to have another tough match after 2 matches at Unforgiven. Adamle responded that he did Jericho a favor by placing him in the scramble, and Jericho owed him a favor. He then had a change of heart. After Batista dominated early with a powerslam, Adamle came out and said that he misdiagnosed Jerichos condition. Adamle said he needed a competitive match, and announced Jericho and JBL vs. Batista in a handicap match. Chris Jericho and JBL beat Batista. Jericho and JBL got along fine despite the fact JBL tried to murder Jericho earlier this year. Thats the sort of detail they should at least make a token explanation for in the name of storyline consistency and logic. The heels worked over Batista, but Batista came back with clotheslines. He went for a Batista bomb on Jericho but Lance Cade got on the apron. Batista knocked him off, allowing JBL to hit the clothesline from hell and Jericho stole the pin. After the match, JBL and Cade beat up Batista, but Batista then came back with a spear on JBL and spine buster and Batista bomb on Cade

Orton has become the "new" HHH. And by that I mean HHH was, IMO, the BEST heel since old school Ric Flair. He cut good promos and was cold and vicious to anyone in his way and Orton is clearly mimicking that, and doing it well.

    Everybody, let's rock!
    September 15, 2008

Jailhouse Rock. The song is one of Elvis’ greatest and most enduring hits. The chart-topper also proves a fitting theme when Raw rolls into Presley’s adopted hometown on Monday night.

After all, current World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and his rival CM Punk will climb within the prison-like confines of a 15-foot high, steel cage for what promises to be one rockin’ title match. After being unable to compete in the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble Match at Unforgiven, thanks to an attack by Randy Orton and his band of multi-generational Superstars, the Straightedge Superstar will undoubtedly have redemption on his mind. For his part, Jericho will be defending a title that he feels he earned justly and rightly deserves. One week after Unforgiven, neither man will be 100 percent, but that won’t keep them from giving every last ounce of themselves to be called World Heavyweight Champion. Will Punk be able to make his opponent Surrender? Or will Jericho send Punk packing to the Heartbreak Hotel?

In other Raw action, Kane is eager to battle his latest target, Rey Mysterio in the shadow of Graceland. During their confrontation last week, the Big Red Monster supposedly dropped a clue to his strange actions as of late when he pulled out his old mask, slipped it on and laughed demonically. What more can Rey, and the WWE Universe, expect to learn about Kane’s bizarre behavior Monday night? Suspicious Minds want to know! Who will prevail in their one-on-one encounter?

And what are we to make of the cast of multi-generational Superstars, World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase and Manu, the son of Afa from the Wild Samoans? While this group certainly has things All Shook Up, the WWE Universe wants to know what their plans are for Raw, and who will be next to feel their wrath?

To find out the answers to these questions, make sure to tune in to Monday Night Raw at 9pm et, 8pm ct on USA Network

World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho experienced his share of mixed emotions on the last edition of Raw. First, Jericho escaped with a win in a tough Steel Cage Match against CM Punk. But for the World Heavyweight Champion, any thought of celebration was quickly perished by Raw General Manager Mike Adamle, who unveiled Jericho’s next tall order: A Ladder Match at No Mercy against none other than his bitter rival, Shawn Michaels.

With this week marking the 800th edition of Monday Night Raw, how will Jericho and Michaels show the WWE Universe their deeply held disgust for one another? And just how much more personal will this grudge match grow between these arch-enemies?

In other Raw news, GM Adamle also arranged a No Mercy match-up between JBL and Batista, the winner earning an opportunity in the future to compete against Jericho, or whoever the champion may be, for the World Heavyweight Title.

To JBL, the ends always justify the means. With that in mind, the question needs to be asked, to what depths is the Longhorn Loudmouth willing to sink in order to gain an advantage over Batista at No Mercy and an opportunity at World Heavyweight gold?

Also in action, Candice Michelle asserted her status in the Diva roster last week. The Candy-coated Diva dominated Jillian as Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix looked on from ringside. After notching the win, Candice called The Glamazon inside the ring. As Phoenix climbed through the ropes, however, Candice showed her resourcefulness, dropkicking her rival to the floor.

Just how else might Candice assert herself in the weeks leading up to No Mercy? And how will The Glamazon capitalize on the size and strength advantage that has served her so well?

And what’s the deal with Charlie Haas? The guy has been impersonating various Superstars for weeks. Who’s going to be next on the chameleon’s list?

To find out the answer to these questions and more, make sure to tune into Monday Night Raw at 9pm et, 8pm et only on USA Network.

I don't know what I laughed my butt off harder at. The back and forth between Miz/Morrison and Cryme Tyme (I've met your dad, Shad. He wears a sweater vest- Morrison :laughy32:) or Charlie Haas at Dave & Buster's paying tribute to Mr. Perfect.

Both were laugh out loud funny.

    RAW Results for 9/22:

Chris Jericho came out to start the show. He got incredible heat, to the point he could barely hide his satisfaction about it. He said that Shawn Michaels is trying to re-write history. He tricked Mike Adamle into a ladder title match and tricked the fans into thinking he revolutionized the ladder match. Jericho said that you can’t trust Michaels, but you can trust Jericho because Jericho is an honest man, a good man, and he always tells the truth. Jericho said that he has won three different titles in ladder matches and won more high profile ladder matches than Michaels. Jericho noted that Michaels scarred up his back but he still walked out champion because he’s better than Michaels. He added that he will finish off Michaels at No Mercy. Randy Orton came out, complete with tons of new tattoos on his arms. I like how he keeps appearing before he is fully healed. It teases his in-ring return and makes people want to see it. Orton noted that if he didn’t kick Punk Jericho wouldn’t be champion. Orton again said he would beat whoever wins at No Mercy for the title. Jericho said that Orton talks trash that he can’t back up. He labeled Orton a dreamer and a big mouth. He then threatened to attack Orton, but Orton said he had an agreement with Mike Adamle. He couldn’t touch anyone and nobody could touch him or they would be suspended. Jericho wished Orton luck and left.

This led to a furious CM Punk charging out. Punk went eye to eye with Orton, and then attacked Orton. Adamle then came down to punish Punk, but he was cut off by Shane McMahon. Shane said he would usually respect Adamle’s edict, but not on this night. After overruling Punk’s suspension, Shane announced Punk vs. Cody Rhodes and a main event of JBL and Jericho vs. Batista and Shawn Michaels. They panned to the crowd where there was a guy who seemed so unbelievably excited that he was going to get to see this random tag match. I’m not sure why, but it was great nonetheless. This was a fun opening segment.

CM Punk beat Cody Rhodes. Punk hit some kicks early. Rhodes used a crossbody but Punk rolled through. They traded punches, and Punk applied an ankle lock. Punk hit a spinning back fist, hard kicks, knee lift, high knee and go 2 sleep. This was a good intense performance by Punk. After the match Manu and Ted DiBiase attacked but Kofi Kingston made the save.

Backstage, Adamle was embarrassed about being overruled. Shane said that he’s doing a great job but sometimes you’ve got to step on some shoes to accomplish what you want. Kane entered the room and derisively sneered at Shane. It was a nice touch to acknowledge the old feud. Kane wanted Rey Mysterio, and Adamle made the match for No Mercy.

Beth Phoenix confronted Kelly Kelly backstage. Santino had a nose guard to sell an injury from Batista last week. Okay, so it was really just so Santino would look silly. Beth accused Kelly of laughing at Santino and vowed revenge. Santino began mocking Batista when Batista came up from behind. Santino shrieked like a girl and hid behind Beth. Beth said that if Batista screws with them Santino will beat him up.

Santino Marella beat Deuce. Santino brought back the Honk-a-Meter, and he is now 59 weeks away from besting the Honky Tonk Man. Deuce got no reaction, and this was generally a pretty hot crowd. Deuce went after Santino’s nose with punches, but Santino rolled him up for the pin.

Kane beat Evan Bourne. Bourne hit a front kick, enzuigiri, low dropkick, kicks and moonsault to the floor. Kane retaliated with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker and Oklahoma stampede of all moves. He then won with the choke slam. Afterwards Rey tried to make the save but Kane gave him a big boot and choke slam.

Jamie Noble asked Shane McMahon for another match with William Regal. Randy Orton arrived and Shane kind of blew off Noble. Orton wasn’t pleased with Shane’s decision. Shane said he respects Orton, but that Orton is getting off easy after what he did to Punk. Orton threatened Shane with trouble.

Kelly Kelly beat Beth Phoenix. Beth nailed some punches early and a power bomb into the corner. Kelly hit a springboard crossbody. As Kelly was coming off the ropes, Santino tripped her. Beth went to attack Kelly but nearly hit Santino and Kelly rolled up Beth for the pin. After the match Beth and Santino went to attack Kelly, but Batista made the save. Santino sucker punched Batista, but Batista grabbed him, pulled back his nose guard and sent it into his face, and then speared him. The nose guard spot was funny.

Miz and John Morrison beat Cryme Tyme. They built this up through an apparent internet grudge with both teams making fun of each other. The heels crotched JTG and worked him over. Shad got the hot tag and came in with back drops. Cryme Tyme set up for the G9, but Morrison tripped JTG and Miz rolled up Shad for 2. Shad hit a face first suplex on Miz for two. Morrison then sent JTG into the post and used an enzuigiri on Shad for the pin.

Chris Jericho told Mike Adamle that Shane was testing him. Jericho said that Shane wanted to be challenged. This led to Adamle changing the main event to a handicap match.

Charlie Haas then did a comedy vignette built around him screwing up Mr. Perfect spots. He screwed up in basketball, golf, pool, boxing, air hockey, football and even dance dance revolution. This was a funny vignette.

Chris Jericho, Lance Cade and JBL beat Batista and Shawn Michaels. The heels worked over Michaels, who eventually tagged in Batista. Batista came in with shoulder blocks, a clothesline, a spine buster and a power slam on Jericho. He tagged back Michaels, who hit an elbow off the top. Jericho came back with a bulldog on Michaels but missed the lionsault and tagged Cade. Michaels hit a flying forearm but he was distracted by Jericho and Cade hit a sit down power bomb for the pin.

    RAW Results for 9/29:

Batista beat Santino Marella. Santino brought back the Honk-a-Meter and then a graphic asserting he has more brain cells than Batista. He threatened to leave Batista in worse shape than the American economy. Batista just destroyed him with clotheslines, shoulder blocks, a spine buster and the Batista bomb. JBL attacked Batista with a clothesline from hell after the match.

Shawn Michaels was interviewed backstage. He said that he knew Lance Cade would be good, but didn’t expect him to show it at Shawn’s expense. He said that won’t happen again, and added that Chris Jericho has six days left as champion. Shawn Michaels then teased that his mystery partner for the end of the show would be Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin or Bret Hart. It’s always nice to set people up for disappointment. Hogan shockingly got absolutely no reaction. Shawn said he wanted a partner who likes him.

The Miz beat JTG. JTG hit a leapfrog into a rocker dropper and a modified neck breaker on Miz. John Morrison got up on the apron, but Shad quickly knocked him off. Still, that distracted JTG and Miz hit the reality check for the pin.

Backstage, Jamie Noble asked Jillian Hall to be his partner but she said no. Dolph Ziggler came in to introduce himself so they could say his name three times in an effort to antagonize me.

Jamie Noble and Mickie James beat Paul and Katie Lea Burchill. Noble teased that he would have no partner, and was excited when Mickie joined him. William Regal and Layla watched from the stage. Paul tripped Mickie as she was coming off the ropes, and the heels worked over Mickie. Mickie tagged Noble, who came in with a belly to back suplex, missile drop kick, northern lights suplex and arm bar on Paul the Pirate for the tap. Noble is great when they give him the chance to shine.

Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase and Manu went to speak with Kane in his specially red and black lit corner. Cody suggested that since Kane’s father is Paul Bearer, that makes him a second generation superstar too. That was funny. They wanted unity, but Kane told them to stay out of the way.

Lance Cade came out to brag about beating Shawn Michaels. He said that in a few months he learned more from Jericho than he did in years from Michaels. He said Jericho is a better influence and a better wrestler and he’ll keep his title Sunday.

Kane, Manu, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes beat Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio, Evan Bourne and CM Punk. Rey back dropped Bourne into a somersault plancha onto Manu. Punk and Kofi hit stereo topes on DiBiase and Rhodes, and Rey hit a senton onto Kane on the floor. The heels worked over Bourne, who got the tag to Punk. Punk came in with a springboard clothesline and high knee, but was cut off with a chop block. They worked over Punk’s leg, but he eventually got the tag to Kofi. Kofi hit a frog crossbody off the top, the side Ghanan leg sweep, and a high double leg drop on Cody. Kane got the tag and went for the choke slam, but Rey dropkicked him in the back. That was only a brief interruption, as Kane caught Kofi for the choke slam and pin moments later.

Mike Adamle came to the ring, and said that because Kane won the previous match, Rey’s mask will be on the line Sunday. Randy Orton came out and mocked Adamle for being Shane McMahon’s lackey. He said that when he’s healthy he’ll own the show again and Adamle will need him more than he will need Shane. JBL joined them and said he was in a bad mood because he’s lost tons of money. He said that he will be the number one contender after Sunday and Orton is living in the past. JBL said he won’t be giving Orton a title shot when Orton returns. Batista then appeared and speared JBL. He added that JBL’s week will get worse Sunday.

Santino was talking on the phone with a woman, but he saw Beth and then claimed he was talking to Frankie, a sick kid. Beth told Santino not to come out for her match, because she didn’t want him screwing things up for her. Santino retorted that thankfully they don’t have a Fabulous Moolah meter, because she’s down 22 years.

Beth Phoenix and Jillian Hall beat Kelly Kelly and Candice Michelle. Jillian dropped Candice on her face, and they briefly worked over Candice. Candice tagged Kelly, who came in with a whirly bird on Beth. Beth caught her with the glam slam for the pin.

Great Charli beat Deuce. This was Charlie Haas doing Great Khali’s mannerisms and yelling out belligerently to comedic effect. Inexplicably, Ranjin Singh came out with Charli and laughed along as Charli mocked his wrestler. Charli hit a chop, but Deuce stopped the tree slam. Charli took off his wig and used punches, kicks and a clothesline off the top for the pin. After the match, Great Khali laid him out with a chop.

Shawn Michaels and HHH beat Chris Jericho and Lance Cade via DQ. Despite HHH being terribly predictable as the partner, Michael Cole was shocked by this development. He was in baffled amazement, like it was Bruno Sammartino who would be teaming with Michaels. Cole then labeled Michaels the inventor of the ladder match. The heels worked over Shawn, who eventually tagged in Hunter. Hunter hit a face buster and spine buster on Cade, but Jericho gave HHH the code breaker. Cade and Jericho double teamed Michaels for a lame DQ. Cade brought in a ladder after the match but Hunter evened things up with the sledge hammer. Cade received sweet chin music and the pedigree at the end of the show.

    RAW Results for 10/6:

Chris Jericho came out to start the show. He said that Mike Adamle wouldn’t be at Raw, so he was put in charge. He pointed out that he retained his title at No Mercy, but then noted Shawn Michaels permanently disfigured him. The camera zoomed in on a nasty looking chipped tooth. Jericho said that he will have to look at that for the rest of his life, but when he does so he will smile because he beat Michaels in Michaels’ match. Jericho added that he is through with Michaels, and announced Michaels vs. Lance Cade in a no-DQ match on Raw. He said that everyone will have to acknowledge his dominance. Batista came to the ring and congratulated Jericho. He then told Jericho to pick a number, because that will be the number of days before Batista takes his title shot. Jericho said he will find a way to beat Batista and he will make sure Batista’s name is synonymous with failure. He then told Batista to get out of his ring, but Batista responded by giving him a spine buster. During a commercial break, Jericho said that JBL and Batista would meet again on Raw for the number one contender status with Jericho as referee. This was an entertaining segment, and Chris Jericho was tremendous again.

Santino and Beth Phoenix beat Jamie Noble and Mickie James. Santino said prior to the match that he has been criticized for being too ethnic, so he has made an effort to be more American for the people. He announced his new favorite NBA team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. This of course got cheap heat. Santino added, The NBA: it’s terrific. This wasn’t much of a match. Beth grabbed Noble’s tights in the corner and when he freed himself Santino rolled him up for the pin. William Regal and Layla were at ringside and after the match Regal and Noble had an awesome brawl. Regal went absolutely nuts.

They then cut backstage, where Shawn Michaels said that Jericho wants Cade to do his dirty work. Michaels said he would show he has plenty of gas left in the tank.

Ted DiBiase beat Kofi Kingston. Manu and Cody Rhodes were out there, so Punk joined the scene to even the odds. Kofi hit punches, a dropkick, a top rope frog crossbody and the side Ghanan leg sweep. He was going for the high double leg drop but Cody got on the apron. Punk knocked Cody off the apron, but Kofi stopped going for the leg drop, instead walking away from DiBiase to look at Cody on the floor. DiBiase of course came up from behind with the million dollar drop for the pin.

Chris Jericho approached Randy Orton backstage. He said they don’t like each other, but neither wants Batista as the number one contender. Why Orton would prefer JBL as number one contender to Batista I’m not exactly sure, but Jericho enlisted his help anyway.

They aired a pair of really well done video packages on John Cena. The first package went over his injury and they sold that it came from his match with Batista. They then went over his surgery, and the doctor said he will be back in three to four months. The second vignette talked about how Cena came back to the show after going through surgery. These were very effective in putting over Cena’s heart and passion for the business.

Kane and Mark Henry beat Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio. Matt hit a chop block on Kane and teamed with Rey for a double dropkick. The heels gained control on Matt for a spell, but he got the tag to Rey. Rey hit a springboard leg drop to Henry, but Kane punched Rey in the back of the head. The heels worked over Rey. Henry stood on him. However, Kane missed a clothesline off the top and Rey made the tag to Matt. Matt hit a swinging neck breaker on Kane. Kane went for the choke slam, but Matt escaped and hit a bulldog off the second rope. Matt dumped Henry to the outside and set up Kane for the 619. Matt went to the top rope but Henry hurled Rey into the top rope. That knocked Matt off and Kane gave him a choke slam for the pin. That was a cool finish.

Shawn Michaels beat Lance Cade. Cade hit a clothesline, dropped Michaels on the announce table, and sent him through a table on the floor with a sidewalk slam. That was about it, however, as Michaels gained control of a chair. Michaels repeatedly hit Cade with the chair all over his body. Michaels pinned Cade, but continued to fume in the corner after the match. He grabbed the chair again and kept hitting Cade even more with the chair.

Jerry Lawler got in the ring to announce that at Cyber Sunday fans will be able to choose Santino’s opponent. The options are Roddy Piper, Goldust or the Honky Tonk Man. This was clearly meant to build towards Honky, but the crowd surprisingly didn’t react much to him.

Great Khali came out to plug a segment he did with some jackass from Jackbutt. The guy wanted to know if Khali is well hung. Khali found this inappropriate, and invited him to Raw next week. These angles with D-list celebrities have the exact opposite of the intended effect. Khali then hosted Kiss Cam. It built to him kissing Lillian.

Kelly Kelly beat Jillian Hall. Jillian prior to the match sung Smells Like Teen Spirit. Miz, John Morrison and Cryme Tyme were doing commentary. They bickered back and forth in the most ridiculous manner imaginable. This started out absurd but over time it got better and better. By the end it was absolutely hilarious.

Batista beat JBL in the main event. Chris Jericho was the special referee, William Regal the special timekeeper and Randy Orton the special commentator. Chris Jericho basically cheated throughout. Batista hit a shoulder block, but Jericho was slow to count. JBL hit a swinging neck breaker and Jericho did a fast count. JBL then went for the pin again and Jericho did a normal count for some reason. Batista got a cover and Jericho didn’t count. Regal jumped Batista while Jericho was talking with JBL. Jericho tripped Batista, and that was the final straw. Batista gave JBL and Jericho a double spear. At that moment, who should appear but Mike Adamle, who apparently got out of the meeting he was at and returned to Raw just in case Jericho was incapacitated in the closing moments of the show. He had a referee come down to the ring. Batista then hit the Batista bomb for the pin. Adamle then announced at Cyber Sunday Jericho will defend against Batista with the fans picking the referee from Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels or Stone Cold Steve Austin.

    RAW Results for 10/13:

At the start of the show, Chris Jericho reprimanded Mike Adamle backstage for taking back control from him last week. Adamle pointed out Jericho wouldn’t even be champion if Adamle didn’t put him in the scramble. Adamle said that Jericho and Batista would get to pick the other’s Raw opponent. Jericho was agitated, and threatened to go over Adamle’s head. Adamle retorted that Shane and Stephanie turn off their cell phones during Raw, an odd assertion given the GM character is seemingly talking with a McMahon on the phone every other week. Jericho responded by saying he knew how he could get to them. so Jericho’s plan was to go out to the ring where the McMahons would be able to hear him. In the ring, Jericho complained about the referee choices for his match at Cyber Sunday because they are all out to get him. Jericho said his title reign shouldn’t end due to an unbiased official. He then realized what he said and quickly said it shouldn’t end due to a biased official either, which was funny. He added that it is unfair to let the people choose. Shawn Michaels came out and said that if he is referee it will be the worst day of Jericho’s life. He then attacked Jericho. Jericho made Shawn Michaels vs. Batista for the show.

Kane and Mark Henry beat Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio. Didn’t we see this same match with the same finish last week? Don’t answer; that’s a rhetorical question. They announced that Kane and Rey will wrestle at Cyber Sunday in either a falls count anywhere match, no holds barred match or 2 of 3 falls match. Henry hit a body slam on Hardy but missed an elbow. Hardy hit two second rope elbow drops and a tornado DDT. Kane and Henry took over with punches and worked over Hardy. Hardy eventually got the tag to Rey, who hit a springboard senton, double foot stomp, twisting scorpion death drop, huracanrana and 619 on Kane. Rey came off the top, but Kane nailed him with a kick for the pin. Kane went for the choke slam after the match but Rey escaped and dropkicked Kane out of the ring.

Backstage, Batista said that he knew what Chris Jericho was doing. He noted that there is no love lost between him and Shawn Michaels. He further observed that Michaels is in an angry mood. However, Batista said that if Michaels were to try to take him out, he’d take out Michaels first.

JBL beat Haas Hogan. JBL did a promo before the match where again WWE tried to get over the idea that the economic stimulus package is nothing more than a payout to the rich. The crowd wasn’t fooled by the Hogan music, as it didn’t get much of a pop. Haas’ mannerisms were good. Haas hulked up and hit the big boot but he missed the leg drop. JBL hit the clothesline from hell for the pin.

After a package on John Cena, Randy Orton came out and complained about how there have been no kind words or video packages for his return from injury. Orton said that he doesn’t care what happens at Cyber Sunday or whether he’ll be the referee because he’ll will the title no matter what happens.

Batista and Shawn Michaels fought to a no contest in a lumberjack match. Jericho made the lumberjack stipulation with all heel lumberjacks. Michaels applied the figure four and hit a swinging neck breaker. Batista took over with a twisting uranage and bear hug. Batista fell to the outside, where Orton tried to hit his kick to the head. Batista avoided that but Michaels used a flying forearm. Michaels went to the top, but Regal pushed him off. Batista hit a spine buster and set up for the Batista bomb but both men tumbled to the floor. The lumberjacks jumped both and followed them to the ring, which apparently constituted a double DQ. Batista and Michaels cleared the ring, however, and shook hands.

Santino Marella came out for another edition of the Honk-a-Meter, which is now at an impressive nine weeks. This was the cue for the jackass angle. Santino brought the jackass to the ring. He referred to Beth as a dude, so she slapped him and gave him a sloppy body slam. Hornswoggle ran in and hit the frog splash. Big twinky Johnson came out and danced. Boogey Man and his worms made their entrance. Finally Great Khali came out and put the jackass in the head vice and dropped him.

Kelly Kelly and Cryme Tyme beat John Morrison, Miz and Jillian Hall. Prior to the match Morrison and Miz performed a rap and Jillian sung the hook. Morrison and Miz are the kings of being so bad it’s good. Kelly hit a clothesline, punches and used the whirly bird on Jillian. That was it for the women, as JTG and Miz tagged in. JTG hit a blockbuster and dropkick, but was distracted by Jillian’s shrieking. Morrison and Miz took over with double teams, until JTG got the tag to Shad. A brawl ensued, JTG hit Morrison with a Duck facemask and Shad scored the pin.

CM Punk beat Chris Jericho with Batista making himself special referee. Punk’s reaction wasn’t as good as it has been, which may be a signal that they need to present him stronger. Punk hit a crossbody off the top and kick to the head. Jericho retaliated with a senton and enzuigiri, but Batista slow counted Jericho’s pin attempts. Jericho went for a bulldog but Punk shook him off. Punk went for a high knee but missed. Jericho went for the Walls, but Punk rolled him up for two. Punk hit a high knee and bulldog, but Jericho escaped the GTS attempt. Jericho then hit the code breaker, but Batista got something in his eye at the count of two. A livid Jericho got in Batista’s face, and Batista gave him the Batista bomb. Punk covered for the pin

    RAW Results for 10/20:

Kelly Kelly and Candice Michelle beat Jillian Hall and Katie Lea. The heels briefly worked over Candice, with Katie using a back breaker and Jillian executing a handspring elbow. Kelly got the tag and used a whirly bird, crossbody off the second rope and famouser on Jillian for the pin.

Chris Jericho came out. He emphasized that he is the champion and bemoaned the disrespect that he has been shown. He further complained about the choices for referee at Cyber Sunday. He said Steve Austin is the worst choice, which makes no sense. Shawn Michaels explicitly said he would screw you out of the title and attacked you last week. Chris Jericho again talked about beating Steve Austin and the Rock in the same night, and said after he beats Batista he will prove his dominance as champion. Batista came out and said that if Jericho beats him, Jericho will have earned the people’s respect. However, he laughed at the likelihood of that happening. He also said that in the interim Jericho needs to stop whining and crying. Mike Adamle then came out and said Jericho and Batista would compete in gauntlet matches against the same three opponents. Jericho slapped Batista and left.

JBL beat Stone Cold Steve Haastin. JBL complained about the mockery of him having to face a has-been impersonator last week. He said that he’s a man of dignity, which cued Austin’s music. For some reason, the people this week were actually fooled momentarily. They popped like it was the real Austin and then quickly quieted when they realized it wasn’t. Haastin hit Thesz press and some punches, but he missed the stunner and JBL hit the clothesline from hell for the pin.

Rey Mysterio beat Snitsky in what basically amounted to a squash match. Snitsky missed a big boot. Rey hit a springboard senton, low dropkick, double foot stomp off the top, 619 and springboard splash for the pin.

Miz and John Morrison beat CM Punk and Kofi Kingston. Before the match Miz and Morrison talked themselves up. Miz said they have more street cred than K-Fed. They mocked DX by asking, Are you 50? That’s apparently the first tease for a match with them, and you knew after that they would be beating Kofi and Punk. Punk hit an enzuigiri on Miz and Kofi and Punk hit a double kick to the head. Kofi followed with a dropkick, and threw Morrison over the top rope onto Miz. Kofi hit a European uppercut and a monkey flip. Morrison kicked Kofi in the head and got the tag. The heels took over, with Morrison using a Northern lights suplex and dragon sleeper. Kofi eventually made the tag to Punk. Punk hit a swinging neck breaker, slaps, a spinning back fist, high kick, high knee, bulldog and power slam on Morrison. Punk hit the GTS, but didn’t realize Miz had tagged back in. Miz rolled up Punk for the win.

Santino was the highlight of the show again. He came out with Roddy Piper’s attire, Goldust’s face paint, and Honky Tonk Man’s wig and guitar. He said all his potential opponents are washed up. He made fun of Piper’s weight, said Goldust’s career has flamed out and said Honky made his career copying Elvis. That brought out Hacksaw Jim Duggan. He said Santino is in the last minute of his fifteen minutes of fame. Santino showed off the Honk-a-Meter, which is now in double digits. Santino told a bunch of bad jokes at Duggan’s expense. Duggan said if it wasn’t for Santino’s boyfriend, Santino wouldn’t be champ. He then yelled tough guy at Beth. Santino hit Duggan with the guitar, and accidentally busted open his mouth in the process.

There was supposed to be a tag match with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase vs. Cryme Tyme. However, the match never started. Rhodes, DiBiase and Manu jumped Cryme Tyme three on two, and laid them out.

The main event was the gauntlet matches. Rather than having one guy wrestle three matches and then the other, they had Jericho and Batista alternate so one guy would always get a weakened opponent. William Regal was the first opponent. Batista hit a spine buster and Batista bomb for the pin in a very quick squash. Jericho then hit the code breaker on the weakened Regal and pinned him. Mark Henry was next. Jericho started, and went for the Walls. Henry powered out. Henry whipped Jericho into the corner and hit an avalanche. Henry missed a splash, and Jericho hit the lionsault. Henry kicked out of the pin attempt. Jericho removed a turnbuckle. The referee went to cover it, and Jericho grabbed the title belt. He hit Henry with it but the referee saw it and disqualified Jericho. Batista then hit a quick spine buster for the pin. The final opponent was Kane. Jericho went after his leg and went for the code breaker. Kane escaped and hit a clothesline off the top. Jericho kicked out of the pin attempt. Kane went for a choke slam, but Jericho fought out. Kane finally hit the big boot for the pin. Batista then came in and hit the spear for the pin.

    RAW Results for 10/27:

An upset Chris Jericho came out to start the show. He said that his title loss at Cyber Sunday was the biggest screw job in WWE history. Jericho claimed that Adamle wanted Batista to be champion and the fans helped achieve that goal. He labeled Steve Austin a biased bully and said that Batista should be ashamed to call himself champion given he didn’t defeat Jericho. Conspiracy, he cried. Jericho vowed to use his rematch clause on next week’s three hour Raw and reclaim the title. Mike Adamle interrupted, and said that the title match next week would be a steel cage match. That feels a little repetitious given they did the same thing when CM Punk dropped the title to Jericho. Jericho stormed off. Randy Orton then came out, and was mad that Adamle stuck him in the referee situation at Cyber Sunday which led to him getting the stunner. Orton called for Stephanie and Shane McMahon to fire Adamle next week, and said that if they don’t fire Adamle he will leave. Orton called Adamle spineless and a failure as an interviewer, commentator, general manager, father and husband. Ouch. Adamle slapped him, and Orton left.

CM Punk and Kofi Kingston beat Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes to win the tag team titles. Kingston and Punk were successful early with dropkicks and double teams including Kingston flipping Punk into a plancha. Rhodes and DiBiase briefly worked over Punk, and then worked over Kingston. Kingston got the tag to Punk, who hit a swinging neck breaker, slaps and a high knee on DiBiase. DiBiase went for the cobra clutch leg sweep, but Punk escaped and hit the GTS for the pin. This was a good match.

Roddy Piper, Goldust and Honky Tonk Man came out to do commentary for Santino’s match. Santino and Beth Phoenix came to the ring, and Santino put over Beth. Beth’s music then played, presumably to tease she would be Santino’s opponent. Instead, Charlie Haas came out dressed as Phoenix. The match never really got started. Santino on the outside slapped Honky, so the former Intercontinental champions pursued Santino into the ring and Honky hit Santino with a guitar.

Batista came to the ring for a brief interview. He said that he feels good to be the champion, and that it was a long journey back to the top. He wasn’t concerned about having a short lived title reign. He said that he is comfortable with the cage, where there will be nowhere for Jericho to run or hide.

Mickie James, Kelly Kelly and Candice Michelle beat Jillian Hall, Katie Lea and Layla. The heels worked over Mickie, who got the tag to Kelly. Kelly hit a whirly bird, dropkick and famouser on Katie for the pin.

JBL did a backstage promo where he said that he was angry at Shawn Michaels for interfering with his plan at Cyber Sunday. He had a deal with Chris Jericho where he would help Jericho retain the title and then would receive the next title shot, but Michaels cost JBL his title shot and the money that would have come with being champion. JBL later jumped Shawn Michaels backstage.

Rey Mysterio beat Evan Bourne. Evan hit a moonsault to the floor and Rey hit a senton off the apron. Evan went for a springboard crossbody but Rey caught him with a dropkick. Rey hit a springboard senton but Evan quickly answered with an enzuigiri. Evan hit a standing moonsault and attempted a sunset flip off the top but Rey rolled through. Rey hit the 619 but missed the west coast pop. Evan went for a victory roll, but Rey rolled through for the pin. This was a good match, particularly at the end. Both guys botched some spots early. After the match Kane and then Mark Henry came out. Kane ended up giving Rey a choke slam and Henry ended up giving Evan the world’s strongest slam.

Miz and John Morrison again made fun of DX. They said that their sophisticated brand of humor may be too much for the common people and their style on the intimidating side. Next week they vowed to defeat DX.

Batista and Shawn Michaels beat Chris Jericho and JBL. The vast majority of this was a handicap match. The heels worked over Batista for a while, but he came back with clotheslines. Jericho hit the code breaker, but Batista kicked out. Batista speared JBL and at that moment Michaels finally made his way to the ring. Batista made the tag to Michaels but the referee didn’t see it and went to escort Michaels from the ring. In the midst of this there was a weird botched spot. Jericho went to hit Batista with the title. I think it was supposed to be the spot where Batista moves and Jericho hits JBL, but Jericho missed both of them. Michaels then thought about doing sweet chin music but changed his mind, so Jericho just left the ring and Batista hit the spine buster and Batista bomb on JBL for the pin.

    RAW Preview for 11/3:

    The following is from WWE.com:

    Happy Birthday, Raw!
    November 3, 2008

Forget the pointy hats. Leave the trick candles at home. But be sure to bring the noise. Next Monday night, Raw celebrates 800 episodes in impressive fashion with a three-hour special starting at 8/7 CT on USA Network. With all the chaos in the air, it promises to be one heck of a party.

Promising to kick the festivities into overdrive, World Heavyweight Champion Batista tangles with Chris Jericho in a Steel Cage Title Match. Last week, a bitter Jericho laid a heavy chunk of blame at the feet of Raw General Manager Mike Adamle for his losing the title to The Animal the night before at Cyber Sunday, unwilling to accept any responsibility for the defeat.

Will Batista be able to continue his momentum inside the sadistic structure? And just how far is Jericho willing to go to regain the gold?

In other Raw action, cocky up-and-comers The Miz & John Morrison convinced GM Adamle to arrange a tag team match between them and the legendary jesters of D-Generation X, Shawn Michaels & Triple H.

The Dirt Sheet duo has been antagonizing HBK and The Game for weeks now on their WWE.com video original program. Which of these two tandems will emerge victorious this Monday? And what type of birthday pranks might the WWE Universe expect from these two tag teams?

As for Adamle, his should be an interesting bash. After getting berated by Jericho last Monday night, the GM also took his licks from Randy Orton. The Legend Killer gave Stephanie and Shane McMahon an ultimatum: show up on this week’s special episode of Raw to fire Adamle or Orton himself is going to walk. Orton then questioned Adamle’s ability as a husband and a father. That went too far, and the GM slapped Orton across the face. A livid Orton stifled his rage and stomped out of the ring. Will Stephanie and Shane McMahon heed Orton’s ultimatum, or has Adamle gained their confidence?

For the answers to these questions and more, be sure to join the three-hour Monday Night Raw party at 8pm et, 7pm ct on USA Network to celebrate the show’s 800 episodes

Given that this was episode 800 of Raw, they aired historic Raw clips throughout the show. It felt flat to me given they did the same gimmick less than a year ago for 15 years of Raw and released a three disc DVD on the subject to boot. Randy Orton came out to start the show and took a seat at ringside until Shane and Stephanie McMahon responded to his ultimatum that either Mike Adamle goes or he goes.

Matt and Jeff Hardy wrestled MVP and The Brian Kendrick. Can you guess who did the job? The Hardyz were successful early with double teams but the heels briefly took over. Kendrick hit a low dropkick and went for the Kendrick, but Jeff escaped and made the tag. Matt hit a bulldog/clothesline combination and a side effect on MVP. Matt went for the twist of fate but MVP escaped. The finish was a reversal of old face/heel tag matches. MVP made the tag to Kendrick but the referee didn’t see it. As the referee escorted Kendrick from the ring, Matt and Jeff double teamed MVP with a twist of fate and swanton to score the pin.

William Regal won an 8 man battle royal to earn an Intercontinental title shot. Priceless dumped Snitsky together, but then Ted DiBiase eliminated Cody Rhodes and Manu. Regal took out Jamie Noble. DiBiase got rid of JTG and then disposed of Shad. Regal finally jumped DiBiase from behind to score the victory. Next week Raw is in England to Regal will be the face. That should be fun.

Shane McMahon came to the ring to address Randy Orton. Mike Adamle joined them, and said that he wanted to be a neutral general manager and not take sides. He said he thought that made him special, and seemingly was about to cry. He continued that when he slapped Orton he became what he didn’t want to be. He concluded that the job corrupted him and he resigned. Randy Orton said that Adamle owed him an apology. Shane said that in fact Orton owed Adamle an apology. Shane said he spoke to Orton’s doctors and that Orton has been cleared to compete for weeks. Orton said he wanted to return at Survivor Series, but Shane instead told him he would be wrestling CM Punk on Raw.

Vladimir Kozlov beat Bret 'Hitman' Haas. Haas said Kozlov screwed Kozlov, which got absolutely no reaction. Kozlov won quickly with the head butt.

DX returned again. They did a comedy promo before their match. Michaels said he couldn’t get over how Miz and John Morrison were mocking them, and talked about HHH’s big nose. HHH blamed the camera. Michaels said that you can mock his kids, punch his wife in the face, but that you can’t insult his chaps. HHH then said he was annoyed at them for mocking Michaels going bald. Michaels said he didn’t recall that, and that we should never speak about that again. They then showed high school photos of Miz and Morrison and made fun of them. Eventually Miz and Morrison came out.

HHH and Shawn Michaels beat Miz and John Morrison. While the promo buried Miz and Morrison, the match itself made them look stronger than I expected. Michaels hit an inverted atomic drop, body slam and top rope elbow on Miz. He went for sweet chin music but Morrison stopped that. They worked over Michaels, who hit an enzuigiri on Morrison and got the tag to HHH. HHH gave Morrison a high knee and face buster and Miz a spine buster. Morrison did Michaels’ flying forearm, nip up and sweet chin music on HHH. Miz then went for the pedigree on HHH but HHH escaped. Michaels gave Miz sweet chin music and HHH hit the pedigree for the pin.

JBL suggested himself as general manager to Shane McMahon. Shane suggested instead that he wrestle on Raw. For some reason, JBL assumed that Shane meant he would be included in a three way cage match for the title. Shane instead said that JBL would wrestle the Undertaker.

Beth Phoenix, Layla, Jillian Hall, Natalya, Katie Lea, Victoria, Maryse and Lena beat Kelly Kelly, Candice Michelle, Mickie James, Michelle McCool, Brie Bella, Eve Torres, Tiffany and Mae Young. Beth rolled up Mae for the pin.

CM Punk beat Randy Orton via DQ. Punk hit a springboard clothesline, punches, a spinning back fist, high kick and high knee. Orton escaped the bulldog and set up for the RKO. At that point, Ted DiBiase inexplicably ran in and attacked Punk for the DQ. Orton responded to this by punting DiBiase in the head. The crowd chanted 'RKO' which I’m pretty sure was not the desired reaction. They carted off DiBiase. Rhodes and Manu were bewildered why Orton did that. Orton said that he was kicking some sense into DiBiase, and that if they had a problem they should do something about it. They didn’t, so Orton said there may be hope for them.

Stephanie McMahon met with Mike Adamle backstage. Adamle said that the McMahons were always undermining him and contradicting each other. Adamle said that Stephanie is a megalomaniac. Stephanie told him not to blame her for his inadequacies, and said that controlling Raw is her birthright. Wow, it’s like a glimpse into the writers’ meetings. Shane told Stephanie he had an announcement that she didn’t know about.

Undertaker beat JBL via count out. This was another nothing match with another crap finish. Undertaker dominated. He hit a choke slam and went for the tombstone, but JBL escaped. JBL and Taker bumped heads and JBL fell to the floor. JBL got up but decided not to re-enter the ring and was counted out. Shawn Michaels then ran out and threw JBL back into the ring for a tombstone.

Shane McMahon backstage told Chris Jericho that if he beat Batista he would defend the title at Survivor Series against John Cena.

The fun continued with Kung Fu Naki, Hornswoggle, Boogey Man, Goldust, Sgt. Slaughter, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Dusty Rhodes, Teddy Long, Jesse, Festus, Lilian, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler dancing in the ring. This was supposed to be funny, I think, but they showed the crowd in the background and everyone was just blankly starring, not reacting, dancing, laughing or anything else. Ron Simmons said 'damn' and that was that.

Kane and Mark Henry beat Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio. The faces got a little offense for like a minute. Kofi went for a frog crossbody off the top but he got caught by Henry with the world’s strongest slam for the pin. After the match, Great Khali made the save with chops. He’s now pretty much officially a face, and the crowd did react positively to that one.

Another weird segment was up next. Stephanie said that she liked John Cena challenging for the title at Survivor Series, but wished that Shane consulted her first. They then said that Vince would be proud of what they’re doing.

Chris Jericho beat Batista in a cage match to regain the title. Batista hit a power slam, clothesline, and sent Jericho into the cage. Jericho went for the Walls, but Batista pushed Jericho away through the ropes. Jericho screwed up and lost his hold of the ropes, so he then had to desperately grab the cage and pull himself back in to keep from winning. Jericho went for the code breaker but Batista threw him into the cage. Batista went for the spear but ran into the cage. Jericho tried to climb out, but Batista caught him by going through the door. Batista hit a spine buster and went for the Batista bomb off the top, but Jericho grabbed a steel rig from the top of the cage and hit Batista with it. Jericho tried to climb out. Batista grabbed him by the air, but Jericho kicked him and escaped. This was a great finish.

sorry about the delay with the results, my computer has been acting up

    RAW Results for 11/17:

The show started with the WWE Superstar Forum. Randy Orton wanted to know why John Cena is getting the title shot at Survivor Series. Stephanie blew him off, saying that was Shane’s decision and Cena was a top contender before he got injured. Cody Rhodes wanted to know why Orton wasn’t suspended for punting Ted DiBiase. Stephanie basically ignored him and made Orton vs. CM Punk on Raw in a 30 man lumberjack match. Randy Orton complained, but Stephanie blew him off and asked for the next question.

Santino had a question. He noted the presence of Acorn (Akon), and had a rap in that spirit. He turned a baseball cap to the side and commenced the rap, “My name is Santino and I’m from Europe/I like my pancakes with maple syrup. I lost my title to William Regal/His knee to my head should have been illegal. Now I’m healthy and it is vital/I want back my IC title.” He celebrated and told Regal that he got served.

Stephanie blew off Santino by noting he had two rematches in Europe and lost. JBL wanted to know where Vince is, because he wanted to talk to Vince. Of course, Stephanie blew him off too, saying Vince is out of the picture and she’s in charge. Shawn Michaels wanted to fight JBL. Stephanie McMahon made it 0 for 14,000 in wrestler requests by saying he would need to be patient, but he attacked JBL anyway.

Kelly Kelly beat Victoria. The Raw women are wrestling the Smackdown women in a Survivor Series elimination match, so this was a preview. Kelly used a whirlybird, dropkick and handspring elbow. Victoria retaliated with a clothesline, back breaker and torture rack drop. Kelly then rolled up Victoria for the pin. Victoria jumped Kelly after the match and gave her the widow’s peak. As Victoria was about to leave, the Raw women came out and attacked Victoria. Beth gave her the widow’s peak.

Batista beat Manu in what they announced as Manu’s singles debut. They gave Manu offense here, but having a monster lose his first singles match in four minutes isn’t what I would do. Manu hit a Samoan drop, threw Batista into the post, applied a nerve hold, used a corner avalanche and hit a diving head butt. Batista cut him off with a spear and Batista bomb for the pin. After the match Rhodes thought about getting into it with Batista but decided against getting squashed again. Batista then said he has waited three years to beat up Randy Orton and he will do it at Survivor Series.

They brought out Chief Jay Strongbow in front of the crowd, which was nice of them to do but the crowd didn’t react. Backstage, Randy Orton reprimanded Cody Rhodes for not getting into the ring with Batista. Rhodes told Orton to keep talking, because that’s what Orton does best. They aired a video package on Evan Bourne and he came out on crutches to talk about his return. Mike Knox came out and starred at him a while. They then did a wacky segment backstage where Shawn Michaels feigned nervousness about teaming with Rey Mysterio for the first time but then became more confident and enthusiastically greeted the returning Dolph Ziggler.

Miz and John Morrison beat Rey Mysterio and Shawn Michaels. Michaels hit a baseball slide and pescado on Miz and Rey gave Morrison a tope. Rey hit a senton off the top and huracanrana on Miz. The heels gained control on Rey. Miz threw him into the post, and Morrison used an abdominal stretch and stomach breaker. Rey hit a dropkick and made the tag. Michaels came in with a flying forearm, inverted atomic drop, body slam and elbow off the top on Miz. Rey gave Miz a monkey flip and 619, and Michaels hit sweet chin music. However, Morrison snuck in a superkick on Michaels and Miz covered for the pin.

Chris Jericho told Stephanie that everything will change when John Cena returns to Raw. He said that Cena is a bad influence, and that he will cause chaos and trouble. Thus, he concluded that he needs to retain his title. Kane and JBL met backstage. JBL said they are compatible as partners. Kane responded that JBL’s hobby is financial analysis and Kane’s is electrocuting groins with car batteries. Kane said that if JBL gets in his way there will be a mutiny.

CM Punk backstage said that the last few weeks have been frustrating. He doesn’t know why Orton kicked him in the head, but suspects it was to make a statement and it ended up ruining Punk’s miracle year. Punk said that with the lumberjacks, Orton won’t be able to go anywhere. Punk noted he hasn’t been handed everything; he has worked for it. Punk vowed payback.

JBL and Kane beat Cryme Tyme. This was pretty much a squash. JTG and Shad did gain a little offense at the beginning with shoulder blocks. However, the heels gained control on JTG and never looked back. Kane gave JTG a side slam and clothesline off the top. Kane was setting up for a choke slam but JBL tagged in, hit the clothesline from hell, and scored the pin. They teased dissension afterwards for Survivor Series. Backstage, Mike Knox jumped Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne and hit Bourne’s injured leg with a crutch.

William Regal and Matt Hardy fought to a double count out. Regal prior to the match complained about his reception. He said that the United Kingdom is more respected around the world than the United States because of its respect and loyalty. Both Hardy and Regal dropped the other on the apron, and threw the other into the barricade. They kept brawling and were counted out. They continued to brawl after the match was over, and had to be separated by officials.

Chris Jericho came to the ring for a promo. He put over his history, beating Steve Austin and the Rock on the same night to become undisputed champion. He said that is bigger than anything Cena has done. However, Jericho still needed more, so at Unforgiven he won the first ever scramble match. Actually, that was Matt Hardy. Jericho continued on anyway, recounting his recent wins. He said he is the best in the world and he won’t let Cena take what is his. Jericho said he would save Raw by taking out Cena. This was good, although Jericho has kind of settled into a stock promo.

Randy Orton beat CM Punk in a lumberjack match. They did some spots early where one wrestler would fall out of the ring and get pounded. Jerry Lawler explained the idea behind the lumberjack match, which was a cool touch. Orton worked over Punk. Punk came back with a swinging neck breaker, forearms, slaps, a spinning back fist and a high kick. He went for go 2 sleep but Orton hit a back breaker. Orton was knocked outside and Punk hit a crossbody off the top to the floor. In the ring Punk was distracted by Regal and Orton hit the RKO for the pin. After the match Orton went for the kick again but Batista stopped him with a spear. The lumberjacks then got in a big brawl.

    RAW Results for 11/24:

The show opened with Shane pulling up to the arena. He greeted a few wrestlers as he eagerly made his way into the building. He announced that since both Jericho and Batista had rematch clauses, then they would meet each other later in the night to determine the #1 contender for Cena’s title at Armageddon. Stephanie interrupted and announced that Orton would be added to the match due to being a former champion who was recently injured. Stephanie then announced the upcoming tag match between Michaels and Mysterio vs. Miz and Morrison until Shane interrupted her halfway through. At this point all hell broke loose as Stephanie told her brother that she was tired of him showing up unannounced and making matches. She told him that she would be damned if he ended up ruining things and reminded him that Raw was her show. Harsh words. After she continued the verbal knockout, Shane came back and told her that she wanted to be in charge so she could sleep with another superstar in order to get a new husband. Nice one Shane! She slapped the taste out of his mouth for that one and Shane’s parting words were telling her that she would run the show right into the ground.

Mysterio and Michaels beat Miz and Morrison in a rematch from last week. Morrison and Mysterio opened up and just a few seconds into the match, the cameras cut to the back to show JBL preparing to drive to the ring. This match wasn’t even in the same league as their bout last week, but it wasn’t designed to be. The finish came when Mysterio hit a sunset flip power bomb from the top rope on Miz. Afterwards, Morrison attacked both Michaels and Mysterio. JBL walked into the ring and Morrison had Michaels right where he wanted him. Then to the shock of fans everywhere, JBL knocked out Morrison instead of Michaels. There was even a brief JBL chant going on.

Backstage, Grisham wanted JBL to explain his actions. He responded by saying he had recently made a deal towards Michaels that both would benefit from. He made it sound like Michaels was considering the offer.

Mr. Kennedy returned to television for the first time since completing his latest WWE film. He really wasn’t there to plug the movie as much as he was to plug himself. He showed noticeable support of Barack Obama and then told the fans that he had conducted a survey asking various fans which superstar best reminded them of Obama. He directed the fans to the titantron. There was a broad range of answers, some of which were surprising to me, but then again it’s all subjective anyway. HHH, Jim Duggan, Shelton Benjamin, Cryme Tyme, Batista, Randy Orton and Undertaker were just a few of the names mentioned. This all led to Kennedy bringing up the fact that nobody mentioned him. He compared himself to Obama in that he was young, fresh and charismatic before ending the segment with the signature announcing of his name.

Grisham was backstage with Batista asking for his thoughts on his match. He praised Cena for his performance the previous night and even said that he had goosebumps when Cena was announced as the new champion. Wow. Talk about overselling. He then said that he would be back on the mountaintop soon.

Up next was an opening round match of the Intercontinental title tournament between Kofi Kingston and Kane. Even though this sudden push of the IC belt as being important is probably more so due to the new History of the Intercontinental Title DVD release rather than the fact that many of the biggest stars in company history have held the belt, it was nice to see it given such a high level of importance. Pat Patterson even came out for commentary and Michael Cole noted how it was created from the old North and South American titles. Don’t know if Cole got that from the headset, but at least it sounded nice. The match itself wasn’t too nice. Both seemed a bit off and the finish came when Kane twisted Kingston’s body around the ringpost and wouldn’t let go before the five count for the DQ. Afterwards, Kane continued to pummel Kingston until Stephanie arrived and totally made the whole IC title tournament look like a joke. She gave Kane the ultimatum of continuing to take his frustrations out on Kingston or take them out on Cena next week.

The #1 contender triple threat match was next. Cody and Manu were shown watching backstage during Orton’s entrance. It started with Batista dominating the other two until Jericho hit him with a springboard dropkick. Jericho then hit a running bulldog and missed a lionsault on Orton. Orton was then teasing an RKO as they went to break. When they came back, it was more back and forth action with each man getting the near fall when one of the other two would break up the pin attempt. Good finish when Batista speared Orton as he was doing his running soccer kick. As Batista made the pin, Jericho kicked him off and made the cover for the win. This was a good match given the time and well booked as far as still keeping Jericho as the man who always comes out on top in the end despite no longer being champion.

Santino and Beth were in the ring. Santino complained about not being featured on the new IC title DVD as well as not being in the tournament. He threatened whomever his opponent was which turned out to be Goldust. Goldust won with some new inverted suplex finisher that looked pretty cool.

They showed Orton walking past Cody and Manu backstage. Both gave him a smug look while Orton looked a little salty over his loss. Cody was dressed like a star by the way.

CM Punk beat Snitsky in another match of the IC title tournament. Regal came out for commentary and was fantastic in getting over the IC title. Someone needed to after how badly Stephanie buried it earlier. Regal gave instant credibility to the belt when he mentioned how he beat Edge for his first IC title and how Edge is now the WWE champion. He also said that he wanted to retire as the champ and praised Patterson and a match of his against Ted Dibiase from the DVD. Punk won after reversing a pump handle slam into the GTS.

Grisham was with Mysterio backstage and mentioned that he would be fighting Miz next week in the IC tournament. Mysterio said he watched the DVD and wanted to add his name to the list of great IC champions. Mike Knox then walked in for his weekly staredown. This actually made sense because of the fact that Knox attacked Bourne last week and since Mysterio and Bourne are friends, it’s only logical that he would target him next. That way Mysterio and Bourne can still be linked together once he returns to action.

Mickie, Candice and the returning Melina beat Jillian, Beth and Katie Lea. Match was basic diva fare. The heels worked over Candice until she made the hot tag to Melina to absolutely no response from the fans. That was until she did some pretty hot offense. She did a sunset flip power bomb to Katie which was very similar to the Canadian destroyer of Petey Williams in TNA. She pinned Katie following her split leg drop finisher.

Jericho was making his way to the ring when he bumped into Stephanie backstage. He told her that he was going to be Cena’s one-man welcoming committee. Jericho was in the ring running down Cena when he appeared on the titantron around a bunch of fans. He told Jericho that he has lost touch with reality and accused him of being above the fans. Cena then came through the crowd to a loud positive ovation. He basically did a promo about how great the fans are while Jericho bashed the fans. Cena was ready to fight and Jericho walked off. Jericho then came back and insulted the fans more and Cena eventually lost his cool and destroyed him. Literally. This was one of the best and most effective face beatdowns that I’ve seen in many years where the good guy just loses it and kills the bad guy. He dragged him through the announce table, hit him with the ring steps, put him in a full nelson and applied the STFU. The show ended with Cena standing tall over a beaten Jericho
