Yup, HBK won the Royal Rumble match in 1995 and 1996. In 1995, he became the first wrestler to draw #1 and win the royal rumble.

To win the 1995 royal rumble, HBK eliminated the man who drew #2, "The Late" British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith.

Not often that you see the wrestlers who drew #1 and #2 as the final two in that kind of match.

Yeah but they only had a minute between people coming in so it wasn't that impressive.

SD opened with Deuce vs. Kane. Kane won easily and after the match Colin Delaney attacked him with a chair. Kane no-sold it and chokeslammed Colin.

Vickie is confronted by Rey Mysterio and makes a tag match for later tonight, Rey and CM Punk vs. Edge and Chavo Guerrero.

Jamie Noble over Kenny Dykstra in a good match. Chuck Palumbo came out afterwards and tried to attack Noble, but Noble tossed him out of the ring. Chuck got all angry again.

MVP cut on promo on Flair. Flair shows up and they brawl. Flair gets the Figure 4 locked in on MVP, but he pulls himself out of the ring before he taps.

Undertaker vs. Big Daddy V ended with Mark Henry interfering. Batista made the save and had a stare down with Taker. They announced V/Henry vs. Batista/Taker for next week.

Khali over Finlay in an OK match. Khali tried to attack Horny afterwards but Finlay recovered and Khali left.

Edge cut a promo basically saying he would beat Rey at the Rumble and he would do it for Vickie.

Rey and Punk over Chavo and Edge when Mysterio pinned Chavo. Good long match. Edge and the Edgeheads beat down Rey again after the match. They hit him with a conchairto as the show ended.

Ah, the good old 1995 Rumble. Shortened by both necessity (Bret Hart/Diesel title match went waaaaay too long) and lack of talent (was there ANYONE worth it in the WWF at the time?)... worst Rumble ever.

More recently (if you can say that), Steve Austin won the 1997 and 1998 Royal Rumbles.

It kicked off with Rey vs. The Edgeheads. They had a fun short match with a crappy finish. One of the Edgeheads runs in with a chair for the DQ. Rey jumped off the middle rope drop kicking the chair into Edgehead A's face.

Then we had Domino vs. Jimmy Wang Yang. Match was average; Domino was an anchor holding down Yang who was busting his butt off. Deuce and Cherry attempted to interfere, but Moore put an end to that nonsense. Yang wins with a moonsault off the top rope.

A backstage skit with Palumbo and Noble yelling aired. Then McCool came asking if they were ready, and they all left.

Six Person tag: Noble, Palumbo, and McCool vs. Miz, Morrison, Layla. Match went on for a bit until Palumbo and Noble went face to face in the ring. Palumbo pushed Noble into the ropes causing McCool to fall down. She was put onto an EMT board. Palumbo then made a HEEL TURN~! by beating down Noble on the outside. Eventually McCool got off the board, and Palumbo accidentally knocked her down while she attempted to pull Palumbo off of Noble. This was long, boring, and had no heat. Some people booed for Palumbo at the end and politely clapped for Noble as he was helped, but that's about it.

MVP and Flair had another fantastic segment. It was both of them saying they were gonna win.

Khali and Finlay had the Belfast Brawl, Horny and Ranjin were ringside. I have no idea what happened, cuz they did some stuff, then Finlay just waylayed Khali on the outside. Then Finlay and Horny walked away...and Horny's music played. No explanation. Soooooooo yeah. Then McMahon had a promo with Horny, which was fine.

Batista cut a short but sweet promo saying he was winning the Rumble.

Big Daddy V and Taker had a wretched match. Taker's entrance is really, really cool. Taker won and Mark Henry helped V out at the end.

Main Event was Punk vs. Edge, in which Edge won with a spear. Edgeheads were outside and Rey did commentary. Edgeheads got involved at points, and the match overall was pretty good.

Oh man, poor Ric Flair! I can't believe MVP can do that to another person. Should be interesting that McCool slaps Palumbo, about time somebody whacked him one. I see the Edge lackeys performed with expectation :sleep: Main event looks decent, but not that good.

The show opens with Batista coming to ringside. They do not fire the pyros for his entrance. Batista has an interview with Michael Cole about the SmackDown/ECW Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out. MVP comes out next followed by Big Daddy V, The Great Khali, and Finlay. The lights go out in the arena and The Undertaker appears in the ring. Everyone retreats from the ring once The Undertaker enters. Undertaker lets his opponents know that he is in it, to win it.

Jesse & Festus defeat Deuce & Domino via pinfall.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge comes out to ringside for his "Cutting Edge" segment. Vickie Guerrero his is guest. Rey Mysterio comes out to interrupt. Vickie demands that Rey apologize for the "injuries" that he caused her at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. She smacks him twice. Edge loses his temper and attacks Mysterio. He grabs a chair to further the attack. Rey blocks the chair shot and connects with a 619. Mysterio apologizes to Vickie Guerrero.

The main event is announced as Batista, Finlay, & Undertaker vs. Big Daddy V, The Great Khali, & MVP.

Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins defeat Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore.

Big Daddy V, The Great Khali, & MVP defeat Batista, Finlay, and Undertaker via Disqualification. This match got a lot of time. Finlay scored the DQ for his team when he hit The Great Khali with his Shillelagh. Undertaker ended up chokeslamming Finlay and eventually Hornswoggle. After the match, Undertaker delivers a Tombstone Piledriver to Jonathan Coachman. Batista comes out to assist Coachman, but ends up giving him a Spear. Finlay and Hornswoggle come back out, Hornswoggle hits the tadpole splash.

Looks like Jonathan Coachman might not be announcing anymore, guess he STILL sucks at it. I don't think Coachman has been good at any job on the WWE as announcer or GM.

I've been wondering for the longest time, why does the WWE keep bringing back Chuck Palumbo in the first place? I mean the crowd doesn't seem to care about him. Not to mention talent wise, he doesn't even impress me one bit.

I'd rather listen to Coachman call a match then wrestle in one. My stomach turns into all kinds of knots when he wrestles.

WWE opened SmackDown with the opening pyros as we go straight to in-ring action.

Batista defeated MVP via pinfall. The match begins with MVP in control but Batista ends up winning the bout with the Batista Bomb.

Jimmy Wang Yang, Shannon Moore, Jesse, & Festus defeated Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, & Deuce, & Domino. Wang Yang won it for his team after nailing a moonsault off of the top rope onto Deuce for the pinfall. After the match, all eight competitors start to fight and Festus cleans house.

A video package airs from last week’s edition of SmackDown where Chuck Palumbo works over Jamie Noble. Michelle McCool is shown crying trying to get him to stop.

Victoria defeated Michelle McCool via pinfall. Chuck Palumbo came out on his motorcycle. He distracted Michelle long enough for Victoria to hit Widow’s Peak and pick up the victory. After the match Palumbo gets on the mic and tells her that she better get used to him beating Jamie Noble up.

The Undertaker defeated Big Daddy V via pinfall. Undertaker hit his signature DDT to pick up the win on the big monster from ECW. After the match, Undertaker hits the Tombstone Piledriver on Matt Striker. He sells it well as the EMTs comes out to take him out of the arena.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge is shown looking nervous backstage. They cut to a shot of Vickie Guerrero. She tells the makeup artist to make her look beautiful for her special night.

CM Punk & Kane defeat ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero & Edge via pinfall. Punk picks up the victory for his team by hitting Go to Sleep on Chavo.

Finlay defeated The Great Khali via pinfall. Hornswoggle comes out and distracts Khali, Finlay nails him with the Shillelagh to get the win.

Vickie Guerrero makes her way out to ringside and says that she is excited. There are flowers and balloons in the ring with red carpet with a white heart in the middle of it. A symphony type band comes out and plays a slow song in which WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edges comes out too. He says that he has to ask his soul mate a question. Edge sings We Are In Heaven by Brian Michaels. He proposes to Vickie, she says yes. They kiss and proceed to make out. Rey Mysterio comes out and says that this is the most disgusting thing that he has ever seen and tells Vickie that she is putting the Guerrero name to shame. Edge attacks Rey but Mysterio ends up hitting the 619. Mysterio goes for another high flying maneuver but Edge ducks and he connects on Vickie.

I love it when something bad keeps happening to Vickie. Hey Vickie, maybe you better take the cue to GET LOST. Anybody who thinks Edge/Vickie will get something going is a FOOL because Vickie will eventually get suckered. I hope they get rid of Chuck Palumbo, this angle with him is total bullcrap to get on Michelle McCool like that.

Interesting that the segment was taped 2/6 and aired 9 days later...they must've done a double Smackdown taping on Tuesday Night.

Ha ha ha, check this out. Poor Vickie!
