JBL came out in his limo and said he was the new voice of Smackdown, calling himself Mr. Ratings. Rey Mysterio vs. Gregory Helms - Rey's shoulder was taped up. JBL threw his hat at Rey when they were on the floor. Rey pinned him after a springboard legdrop in a good back and forth match. Booker T vs. Bobby Lashley - Finlay and Regal jump Lashley as he's coming to the ring. They triple team him. Gunnar Scott and Matt Hardy run out to protect him. Backstage, Bobby Lashley told the trainer to get his injured knee ready because he's going to get his hands on Booker. Ken Kennedy defeated Nick Berk. They announced Great Khali vs. The Mexicools. Backstage, Psicosis told Super Crazy he had his back. They aired a Sylvan video. His new gimmick is Ambassador of Quebec. It was designed to look like a vacation promotional video. The Mexicools vs. Great Khali - After several minutes, Psicosis walked out on Crazy, leaving him to be pinned. Miz interviewed Ashley for winning the bikini contest. She introduced the next match. Matt Hardy & Gunnar Scott vs. Finlay & William Regal - Finlay pinned Scott after hitting him with the club. Good match. The Leprechaun attacked everyone after the match until Finlay tossed him back under the ring. Backstage. Teddy Long told Booker T he's going to wrestle Lashley tonight. They aired a Batista return video. Michael Cole interviewed Chavo Guerrero. Cole said that Rey asked Chavo to come out of retirement and what was his response. Chavo didn't respond with a clear yes or no. Mark Henry came out. Henry said that its a shame he doesn't wrestle anymore because he'd show Chavo how he shortens and ends careers. He started insulting Rey. Chavo got in his face so Henry attacked him and laid him out. Backstage, Michelle McCool started insulting Ashley. Ashley challenged her to a bikini showdown and McCool said she wouldn't do it in front of the New Jersey lowlifes. Ashley told her to stop acting like she was teaching class and find some class instead. McCool walked off. Vito in a blue dress defeated Scott Wright via submission. In the main event, Bobby Lashley pinned King Booker
I don't get a chance to ever watch Smackdown anymore, so thanks for the updates Mike :) But honestly, it seems pretty boring these days.

Crazy had the match won and Psicosis tagged himself in and went for a somersault legdrop that missed and Kendrick scored the pin. The Mexicools got into a fistfight with each other after the match. Batista promo for his return in 14 days. Later tonight will be Booker T vs. Bobby Lashley and WWE World champion Rey Mysterio vs. Mark Henry. Simon Dean vs. Tatanka was stopped when The Great Khali attacked both competitors. Khali mimiced the Undertaker's pinfall of opponents, crossing Dean's arm and sticking out his tongue like Undertaker does. Finlay defeated Gunnar Scott after hitting him with the shillelagh. The midget tried to interfere but was tossed back under the ring by Finlay. Sylvan, Ambassor of Quebec promo. Chavo Guerrero did an interview with Michael Cole at home talking about being attacked last week by Mark Henry and that the odds are against Rey Mysterio tonight. Kristal Marshall interviewed Mark Henry. King Booker defeated Lashley in a long match via DQ. Booker brought a chair into the ring but Lashley got it and the referee saw Lashley with it. Finlay and William Regal interfered during the match. Ken Kennedy pinned Funaki with a senton off the top. Backstage, Teddy Long informed Booker T he would face Lashley next week in a Steel Cage Match. Another Batista returns promo. WWE World champ Rey Mysterio defeated Mark Henry via DQ. Chavo Guerrero came out and used a chair to "cheat" by tricking the referee into thinking Henry had used it on Mysterio.

Chavo Guerrero comes out on the ramp and they go back and forth. Chavo hits the ring and Henry splashes him. He goes to splash Guerrero a second time but WWE World champion Rey Mysterio hits the ring, but Henry overpowers them both and leaves them laying. WWE Cruiserweight champion Gregory Helms defeated Super Crazy, DQ. Psicosis hit the ring and got Crazy DQ'd. Crazy and Psicosis brawl with Crazy getting the better of it. There was a backstage segment with Booker T, Sharmell, and Teddy Long discussing the Steel Cage Match later tonight. The Pitbulls defeated 2 local wrestlers They did a backstage segment with Bobby Lashley and WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas discussing the Cage Match. Finlay defeated Matt Hardy after throwing Hardy into an exposed turnbuckle. Ken Kennedy defeated Gunner Scott. The Great Khali hits the ring and chokeslams Scott. Khali challenges Undertaker at the Great American Bash. Mike Mizanin hyped the Steel Cage Match. Vito pinned Simon Dean. Backstage, Booker T and Sharmell were talking to William Regal and Finlay, but we couldn't hear what they were saying. They aired a vignette on the Lashley vs. Booker T feud. WWE United States champion Bobby Lashley defeated King Booker in a Steel Cage match by climbing out of the cage.

Hell I don't know most of the wrestlers on Smackdown anymore....what happened to Rey Mysterio? Is he still around? Seems like all the good ones fled back to RAW or ECW.
Credit goes to: Rajah.com Taping Date: 7/3/06 - Air Date: 7/7/06 - Wachovia Center - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania The show began with a bunch of Smackdown wrestlers coming to the ring for a Battle Royal to determine the #1 Contender to Rey Mysterio's World Championship and the right to face him in a match at the Great American Bash. The wrestlers who came out together were: Super Crazy, Paul London, Brian Kendrick, Jamie Noble, Kid Kash, Ken Kennedy, Simon Dean, Scotty 2 Hotty, Psicosis, & Funaki. The show started with Finlay coming out to his own music, followed by Matt Hardy, and finally William Regal and King Booker. The match was typical battle royal fare. Ken Kennedy got a pop for stopping the Worm. Booker T won when he dumped Matt Hardy and William Regal. Hardy was getting a lot of cheers for his offense when Booker, Finlay, and Regal were working him over. King Booker is the new #1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship and will face Rey Mysterio at the Great American Bash. Rey had an interview and apologized to Chavo for not being able to help him last week, and promised revenge on Henry. Sylvan came out and got a lot of heat when he spoke of the virtues of Quebec in French. Mr. Kennedy defeated Super Crazy with a Kenton Bomb after Psicosis distracted Super Crazy. Kennedy dominated the majority of the match and was very aggressive. Tatanka was interviewed by Kristal and said he was afraid of the Great Khali. Daivari was then shown with a casket, ordering people to take it to the ring. Daivari then came out to the ring with the casket and introduced the Great Khali. They reiterated their challenge to the Undertaker. Tatanka came out next and the match started. Typical Khali squash, but when he went opened the casket to put Tatanka in it, smoke came out and Undertaker played his mind games. He accepted the Punjabi Prison Match challenge over the loud speakers. The match itself was a No Contest. Vito defeated Psicosis by submission when Super Crazy came out to distract Psicosis. Vito did a lot of spots like Rico would do. He kept showing his thong and was prancing around a bit. When Psicosis laughed at him, he kept snapping. King Booker did a promo with Sharmell and Regal. The Pitbulls, Jamie Noble and Kid Kash, defeated Funaki and Scotty 2 Hotty in a tag team squash with a double team maneuver. Regal and Finlay were shown in the back. They are facing Bobby Lashley in a Triple Threat match for the US Title at GAB. Regal started to talk about it, but the Little Bastard was humping his leg. Finlay tried to stop him, but LB bit Finlay's hand and ran away, as Finlay gave chase. Bobby Lashley defeated Gregory Helms with the Bulldog Running Powerslam. Lashley got most of the offense and did his trademark spots. Mark Henry cut a promo in the back on Batista, saying he would make his comeback the shortest in wrestling history. Finally, the moment everyone was waiting for, the return of Batista. Batista got the loudest pop of the night to that point and immediately called out Mark Henry. As Henry walked to the ring, Rey attacked him, but Henry shoved him aside. At this point, Batista came out and started punching Henry. He threw him into the ring steps, beat on him some more, and then whaled on Henry with a steel chair. He posed in the ring to end Smackdown.

WWE World champion Rey Mysterio came out and they argued back and forth about the PPV. Matt Hardy defeated Ken Kennedy with a small package. Jamie Noble defeated Paul London after Kid Kash interfered. They announced later on that London & Brian Kendrick would defend the WWE Tag Titles against the Pitbulls at the Great American Bash PPV. They did a Diva Boot Camp segment with the Diva Search contestants, which was won by Layla. Sgt. Slaughter was present and the segment was hosted by Mike Mizanin. Sylvan was shown backstage shaking his head at the Diva Search. They were pushing the Diva voting hard all night. Finlay defeated Lashley to win the WWE United States championship after the Leprechan distracted Lashley. The Great Khali and Daivari were doing a promo by the stage. Undertaker appeared in the ring after the lights went off and on, then set off fireworks trying to spook Khali. Khali wanted to fight him, but Daivari held him back. There was a contract signing between Mark Henry and Batista for the PPV match. Batista discussed how he missed six months because of Henry and would get his revenge. WWE World champion Rey Mysterio defeated William Regal.

Kennedy came out and did a promo. I can't remember much of what he says but it led to Batista coming out and confronting him. Surprisingly the crowd actually booed when Long announced that Henry was out. Lashley over Finlay via DQ. The diva contestants come out and did a dance off of some sort that JT won. Sylvan was shown backstage talking to various SmackDown talent and where they came from. He then went on to say something along the lines of, "Visit Quebec, it is much better". Great Khali came out and Daivari cut a promo on his behalf, stating that Undertaker will not walk out of the Punjabi Prison match. Kid Kash beat Brian Kendrick after Kash and Jamie Noble double-teamed Kendrick. Ashley and Jillian got the win over Kristal and Michelle. Psicosis beat Super Crazy. There were a lot of high spots and they actually had a pretty good match. Rey Mysterio beat King Booker. Rey wins after some help from Chavo

He does his whole introduction thing which the crowd ate up. Countout surprised people, looks like they're leading to a match where Batista finally wins. Batista chases Kennedy but Kennedy escapes. Chavo Guerrero does an interview on the screen. He doesn't go into much detail. Vito defeated Simon Dean. Same generic Vito matches as we've been seeing lately. Sylvan Grenier defeated Tatanka. It was a modified RKO/Diamond Cutter, sort of while spinning. Grenier is an example of someone who can be entertaining out of the ring, but not in it. Michelle McCool w/Kristal defeated Jillian Hall w/Ashley. Michelle won by putting her feet on the ropes. Booker & Sharmell celebrate. Same long usual Booker stuff, but Mysterio comes down and ruins the whole thing as Booker & Sharmell don't look happy. William Regal and Finlay talk backstage about their past. Finlay defeated William Regal when the midget used the weapon to low blow Regal. The referee was fixing the turnbuckle and the midget was mocking him from behind. JT Tinney won the Diva Search musical chairs. Sylvester Turkey defeated Matt Hardy. Turkey looks pretty stiff like a UFC guy. He basically choked him out to win. Hardy barely got in any offense. Booker T defeated Rey Mysterio to retain the World Title. Chavo attacks Rey on the outside, and Booker takes advantage of it and wins.

William Regal beat WWE United States champ Finlay by DQ when Finlay got the shillelagh from Regal and nailed him. Lashley hit the ring and Finlay nailed him too. Regal and Finlay teased attacking Lashley but Finlay shoved Regal into Lashley and walked out. Lashley hit the Dominator on Regal. Elijah Burke (with Sylvester Turkay) defeated Scott Wright via submission, hitting the Stroke followed by a choke. Turkay beat on Wright after the match and cinched on the finisher he beat Matt Hardy with. Kristal Marshall pinned Ashley Massaro after rolling her up and hooking the tights. Tatanka pinned Sylvan with a sideslam. Batista pinned Ken Kennedy after the Batista Bomb. Michael Cole interviewed Batista at ringside congratulating him on his win. Batista said to congratulate him when he wins back his World title. Vito defeated The Brooklyn Brawler via submission with the dress over the face hammerlock. In his office, Teddy Long was talking to the debuting Montel Vontavious Porter who told him he needed to be signed if Long wanted the "MVP" (his initials) for 2006. Long said he was excited to sign him. Montel told Long to talk to his agent on the cell phone and walked out. Long was shocked at the financial demands mentioned over the phone and said to the agent that they needed to get together soon. KC James and Aaron The Idol Stevens debuted, managed by Michelle McCool, defeating Funaki and Scotty 2 Hotty. Fans began chanting "We want Raw" during the match. Backstage. Sharmell got King Booker ready for the match with the Undertaker. Chavo Guerrero came to the ring and said everyone wants to know why he turned on Rey Mysterio. He claimed that Rey stole the Guerrero family name and their blood. Chavo said he grew up with Eddie Guerrero and they were like brothers together. Chavo said that Smackdown Magazine did an article on Latinos in wrestling and it was Rey on the cover in a Lowrider Los Guerreros used to come to the ring in with Eddie instead of Chavo. He said Rey wasn't a Guerrero and stole Chavo's spotlight. Chavo said Rey did everything to tie himself to Eddie to steal the spotlight, whether it was wrestling him or teaming with Eddie. He said when Eddie died, everyone felt horrible and Chavo retired. He said Rey didn't do the same and instead used Eddie's name to help himself. Chavo said that every 5 minutes, Rey was mentioning Eddie's name and dedicating all the matches to him. Chavo said when Rey won the World title, he still couldn't stand on his own. Chavo said Rey had to use another Guerrero, him, to save his title but keep the glory. He claimed Rey used Eddie's name until Chavo couldn't take it anymore at the Great American Bash and attacked him. Chavo claimed that Rey stole the memory of Eddie from the fans and his family and is a leech living off the Guerrero name. Mysterio hit the ring and they brawled in the ring and around ringside. He slammed Chavo into the ring steps. Eddie Guerrero's wife Vickie hopped the railing to separate them. The crowd chanted Eddie's name. Chavo backed up the aisle and went backstage Vickie walked off without saying a word but glanced at Mysterio as she left. They replayed the clip of Batista wanting to go after the World title. Undertaker beat WWE World champ King Booker via DQ. Taker chokeslammed Booker. Khali hit the ring and hit him with the over the head chop. Taker sat up and clotheslined Khali over the top to the floor. Taker challenged Khali to a Last Man Standing match at Summerslam. Smackdown goes off the air with Taker doing his pose under the purple light and Khali glaring at him from the entrance

Undertaker then comes out and the two duke it out with the taker getting the best of Kaili. It was later revealed during a segment that the main event next week is Kaili vs. Undertaker: last man standing instead of at Summerslam Tatanka vs. Gregory Helms. Helms hit the wizard on Tatanka, but his foot was under the ropes when pinned. Tatanka got a decent pop for his entrance. Idol and James beat London and Kendrick in a non-title match, which was pretty decent Rey Mysterio vs. Ken Kennedy good match overall, until Chavo ran out and started to fight Rey. Believe this was deemed a no-contest Rey was knocked back into Vicki Guerrero during the confrontation, she got up and yelled like crazy to each of them. A Boogeyman video ran which got a mild reception. Vito beat Sylvan Terkay squashed Dustin Starr afterwards him and Burke beat him up some more Main event: Lashley/Batista vs. Regal vs. Finlay w/little bastard and booker commentating. pretty good pops for Lashley and Batista-especially him. match was pretty much one-sided with Lashley getting pummeled until he made the tag. finisher was with a double spear to the King's court for the win. after which, Batista thanked King B. for holding his Title and he wants it back.

Sylvan comes out and does his usual spiel and gets squased in under a minute with the Batista Bomb. Sylvan got a decent reaction coming out might I had. Batista signaled for the world title and you knew he would be back on at some point in the program Sylvester Terkay vs. Scotty 2 Hotty No reaction for Scotty, decent one for Sylvester. Nothing match. Sylvester worked stiff. No one really cared. Won in 4 mins Match #3 Mr. Kennedy vs. Tatanka Kennedy was way over, match was atrocious, loud boring chants. A lot of rest-holds. 9 mins of rubbish, Tatanka goes for the samoan drop, Kennedy rakes his eyes, grabbed Tatanka's trunks. Backstage with Vicki Guerrero begging Teddy Long to stop the match but no dice says Teddy Long, that match stays. Match #4 Undertaker vs. Great Khali Good reaction for Khali, DC popped for just about everything at some point tonight. Undertaker almost did an RKO or sling shot type move off the ropes on Khali from the apron. Sounds confusing but it's not, you'll see it on the tele. Later in the match, Daivari hit Undertaker with a chair and chases him to the back. Khali follows suit and we have a brawl on the stage, Undertaker is thrown into a table on the outside and barely makes the ten count. We head back to the ring and Undertaker is tied in the ropes. Khali beats on him some more but makes the ten count again. He raises up, they trade punches, Khali slings Undertaker into the steps. He teases using the steps on Undertaker but throws them into the ring. Daivar once again goes after Undertaker with a chair but with little results. Khali was laying prone on the steps and Undertaker laid one atrocious chair shot on the steps and everyone knew it completely missed Khali. However, Undertaker laid a wicked shot right into Khali's skull and he juiced hardway. Chokeslam, Khali tries to make the 10 count but collapses and there's your match. Vito vs. Scott Flower Vito was somewhat over, Vito won in six minutes with that submission of his where he puts the gentleman up his dress and he taps out. It was ok Finlay vs. Bobby Lashley - Good pop for Lashley. This match was rest-hold city and extremely boring. Regal interested to at least add something to this match. Nice belly-to-belly at one point by Lashley, and delayed vertical suplex. Finlay brings in little bastard but Lashley spears both. Lashley does the powerslam, has the match won but Regal pulls the ref out of the ring and a beat down ensues on Lashley for the DQ. Post-match had Regal hold Lashley for a chairshot and Lashley ducked and Regal was nailed inadvertently. Highlight was the post match with Lashley launching a steel chair in the air and nailing Finlay dead-on in the face. Main event was King Booker/Batista showdown. King Booker was strutting to the ring and Sharmell had to of repeated "All Hail King Booker" at least 30 times, it was hilarious. The crowd ate it up. Booker gave Batista two choices for Summerslam, either, lose to him at Summerslam or come out, save face, save his integrity, bow town and kiss Booker's royal feet. Batista actually teased he was going to kiss his feet and as he was kneeling, Booker took his boots off to reveal his royal stinky feet, and they were repulsive. Batista then proceeds to stomp Booker's feet and clothesline him over the top off. He put on Booker's royal robe and sat on the royal throne to the disgust of Booker and Sharmell.
Credit goes to: Rajah.com Taping Date: 8/22/06 - Air Date: 8/25/06 - Wachovia Arena - Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania The show opened with King Booker, Finlay, William Regal, and Sharmell coming to the throne in the ring. King Booker gave his usual promo with words like 'rogue' and 'subject' peppered in. He said he proved that Batista could not challenge the King, which prompted a loud Batista chant. The King says that he couldn't have done it without his court and Sharmell decrees that Finlay and Regal are now Royal Knights. Booker pulls out a sword and knights both of them Sir Finlay and Sir Regal respectively. Finlay vows to make all challengers kiss the royal feet, like they did to Bobby Lashley. Regal chants "All Hail King Booker". As they make their exit, Lashley runs in through the crowd to a big pop and attacks Finlay before getting triple teamed. At this point, Batista runs out to an enormous pop and makes the save. Teddy Long comes out to make the handicap tag match for later in the show. Gregory Helms came out to do color commentary on the next match. Ken Kennedy defeats Matt Hardy by pinfall. Before the match, Kennedy brags about his recent wins over two former World Champions, Rey Mysterio and Batista. They begin the match with a long lock up, before Matt Hardy takes over with a shoulderblock and headlock. He then hits an arm drag, clothesline, and elbow drop for a two count. Kennedy suplexes out of another headlock and smashes Kennedy into the turnbuckle. Hardy recovers and takes Kennedy to all for corners. Kennedy takes back over and whips Hardy into the corner for a two count. Hardy recovers and gets the Side Effect for 2. Kennedy blocks a second attempt at one, but is thrown from the ring as Hardy then hits a plancha. Back in the ring, Hardy misses a moonsault. Kennedy goes on to dominate the match for the next couple of minutes with the usual rest holds and submissions. A surprise roll up by Hardy gets 2, and another Side Effect gets two as well. Hardy hits a middle rope elbow drop, but the Twist ofFate is blocked. Kennedy misses a dropkick and the ref goes to check on him. When he does, Helms gets up and drops Hardy's neck across the ropes, allowing Kennedy to hit a neckbreaker for the win. It was a good match given a lot of time for television. Sylvester Terkay defeats Tatanka by pinfall. Terkay got his standard punches and kicks in, but the story of the match as Tatanka getting a fair amount of offense, mostly punches and chops. He kept trying to knock Terkay over, and finally did with a chop off of the top rope to a standing Terkay. He went for the pin, but Terkay's feet were on the ropes. Tatanka argued with the referee, but when he turned around, he got kicked in the head and pinned. Vickie Guerrero came out to Eddie's 'Viva La Raza' theme. She says that she smiles whenever she hears it, but unfortunately, this is the last time it will play. She has to move on, but needs to apologize first. She apologizes to the fans for interfering in matches between Rey and Chavo. The crowd boos. She then said she needed to apologize to the two most important men in her life. She asks Rey to come out first and he accepts her apology with a hug. Chavo comes out next and he also accepts her apology. When Rey is trying to help Vickie from the ring, Chavo blindsides him and gets a chair. Vickie stops him from using it, but she then blasts Rey, and falls down as she does it. Chavo hits a brainbuster on the chair and leaves with Vickie to boos from the crowd. After a few minutes, Rey leaves to cheers. Paul London defeats KC James by DQ. Both wrestlers came out with their partners. They trade fast punches to start before James takes over. Outside the ring, Stevens and Kendrick fight. London recovers and hits the dropsault and goes to the top, but the Pitbulls run out and knock him off the top. They proceed to beat down London before James and Stevens take exception to the interference. They proceed to brawl and then London and Kendrick get involved again until the refs break up the fight. Looks like there is a tag division on Smackdown! Kristal defeats Jillian Hall by pinfall. Kristal won with a handful of tights. It was a decent match and Kristal looks like she is improving and trying hard. Jimmy Wang Yang's redneck vignette aired. He was in a pickup truck, wearing a cowboy hat, and a vest with a Confederate flag on it. Vito defeats Sylvan by submission. Sylvan dominated early with a sit out powerbomb, Mark of Excellence, and missile dropkick for two. Vito punched back and did all his trademark spots before locking in his finisher after an Impaler DDT. He got a pretty good ovation from the crowd afterwards. Post match, he gets on the mic and calls out MVP since he was laughing at him from the front row during the match. MVP climbs to the apron and runs down Vito on the mic before getting a call from his agent. He says that he hasn't signed yet and can't risk injury. "No contract, no contact." Bobby Lashley & Batista defeat King Booker, Finlay, & Regal by pinfall. Finlay and Batista start, with Batista getting the offense in early and ramming Finlay into the corner. He tags Lashley in and throws Finlay into an interfering Regal before he clotheslines both of them. Lashley then dominates Regal and tags in Batista. A double shoulderblock by both men on Regal got two, as did Batista's suplex. Lashley tagged back in and worked over Regal in the corner. Finlay distracted Lahsley, allowing King Booker to tag in briefly. Finlay then tagged in and got a headlock on Lashley. Regal comes in and headbutts Lashley, and then all three work him over in their corner. Booker tags in and covers, but Batista breaks it up. Finlay drags Lashley out of the ring and threw Little Bastard onto Bobby as he was running on the apron. Back in the ring, Lashley counters a King Booker suplex attempt with his delayed suplex. Batista is tagged in and cleans house. Finlay gets Jackhammered and Batista gives Booker T a spinebuster for the win
I don't blame Vickie for this she lost a husband the father to her kids. Vince is to blame for this. PS I just hope the Miz is a better wreslter than presenter.
