Jacksonville Jaguars Biggest 2013 Team Need

February 2, 2013 by Kurt Turner

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a few areas of concern including the defensive line, quarterback and their offensive line. But out of these three, which is the more pressing need?

The offensive line needs some revamping, yes, but I suspect the Jaguars target free agency for this solution. There’s a few intriguing players Jacksonville may find interesting including Andy Levitre (Bills) and Miami’s Jake Long (should Miami fail to re-sign him).

As far as Blaine Gabbert is concerned, the Jacksonville Jaguars need to draft another quarterback, but they will give Gabbert one more year to succeed.

When Gabbert was drafted, I said this was going to be a terrible decision (I was also blasted for that remark because I wasn't following the herd and consensus….thank god I’m not a sheep).

No quarterback has ever come out of Missouri and succeeded at the pro level, period. And I don’t believe Blaine Gabbert will become the exception. The Jacksonville Jaguars will likely target a QB in the later rounds.

This leaves their D-Line which is where I believe the biggest problem exists. With that said, I think the Jacksonville Jaguars reach for Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M. Here’s an excerpt from my last mock draft piece concerning the piece:

“Jacksonville just could not get any sort of pressure up the middle which caused a great deal of defensive stress on the rest of the team. Moore is the type of player who has immediate starter-quality skill sets, and has been compared to the likes of J. J. Watt given his speed, motor and wing span.

The Jaguars can do themselves a great deal of service by upgrading the D-Line despite some other glaring needs (QB). Jacksonville is one team that can settle any QB needs elsewhere, while dealing with a more pressing need up front in the first round of the draft, and Moore is the best the first round has to offer.”

There it is, plain and simple. But this is just my take, Jacksonville. What are your ideas? Leave a comment below and get the discussion going. Next up will be the Titans!
