Following the acquisition of Tony Gonzalez, NFL.com's Pat Kirwin compares Michael Turner's potential for red zone production to Priest Holmes' output from 2002-04.
Holmes also had possibly the best run-blocking line in history, which Turner won't enjoy. Still, Kirwin makes a good point that Gonzalez will force a double team near the end zone, leaving one less defender in the box to stop the run. Turner could match last year's TD total even if he sees fewer carries and less yardage.

The Spin
Damn Pat Kirwin makes a damn good point. But what really is between the lines here is the Matt Ryan will have Tony Gonzalez and Michael Turner as options on passing downs with Gonzo pulling double teams between the lines. Tony Gonzales helps the entire team and really does make Michael Turner a top five fantasy football RB.
