According to the Panthers Twitter page, Jeremy Shockey will not make the trip to Detroit to face the Lions this Sunday.

Fantasy Advice: This is an interesting situation because it will ultimately remove the Panthers' double tight end sets, but what they replace it with is anybody' guess here. Steve Smith is the only true wide-out on this team which obviously suggests his work load will increase probably in more three-wide sets, as will fellow TE Greg Olsen, but I believe Smith will perform better under defensive focus than Olsen will. Also, you could see a better-than-usual day from Jonathan Stewart both on the ground and as the primary passing back.
