Late Tuesday afternoon, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded a seventh round draft choice to the Tampa Bay Bucs for Byron Leftwich.
This is worth taking note of just 50 hours before the beginning of the 2010 NFL Draft because, with rumors circulating about Ben Roethlisberger's suspension being announced on Wednesday, the Steelers were looking at playing their first 4-8 games without their starting quarterback. Leftwich, who spend time in Pittsburgh as a third string signal caller in 2008 when the Steelers won a Super Bowl.
The Steelers already had Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon under contract, but this could signal a longer suspension is coming for Roethlisberger.
Tampa now has 12 picks in this weekend's draft, which ties New England for the NFL high.
