Quarterback Rankings Week 5, Andy Dalton Rises

October 2, 2012 by Kurt Turner

Andy Dalton doesn't face the Ravens this week...

This week is full of great fantasy match-ups for most of the consensus top 10 Quarterbacks. One notable riser in this weeks rankings is Andy Dalton, ranked #11. Dalton has been on fire and gets a middle grade pass defense to go against which hasn't even really been tested. I expect Dalton to do well against Miami which allowed Kolb to pass for 28 fantasy points last week.

Be sure to read our running back rankings and get Greg's take on Chris Johnson.

QB Rank  Player Name  Matchup Comments
Eli Manning vs  CLE Haden is still out which makes Eli a #1 QB against the NFL's worse pass defense.
Aaron Rodgers at  IND If Cutler and Ponder can fair well, then you know Aaron should be good to go!
Robert Griffin III vs  ATL Newton just has a fantasy field day vs ATL, Griffin should do the same.
Drew Brees vs  SD Brees could easily slide in at #2, but 1,2 and 3 just look a little bit better.
Matt Ryan at  WAS Washington has given up the 2nd most points to opposing QB's.
Tom Brady vs  DEN He got back into the grove of things against the Bills, if he repeats this week he'll land back in the weekly top 5.
Peyton Manning at  NE I'm really looking forward to this one, NE ranks 3rd in points allowed to QB. Manning should have a great day.
Philip Rivers at  NO New Orleans ranks 4th in most points allowed to QB. But I think the Chargers will score more on the ground this week.
Joe Flacco at  KC KC ranks 8th in points allowed, Flacco is a nice sneak play this week.
Matt Schaub at  NYJ With Revis out, the Jet's are in trouble.
Andy Dalton vs  MIA He's on "fire" and has a decent matchup this week.
Ben Roethlisberger vs  PHI
Cam Newton vs  SEA Can't wait to see how this one pans out, toughest matchup for Newton to date.
Michael Vick at  PIT Looks for the Eagles to continue the balanced attack.
Alex Smith vs  BUF Looks great on paper…
Jay Cutler at  JAC Nice matchup, but the Bears defense will control this game and Cutler won't be asked to do much.
Christian Ponder vs  TEN Ponder  has a nice matchup, but it's too hard to trust him on a weekly basis.
Andrew Luck vs GB
Matt Cassel vs  BAL
Ryan Fitzpatrick at  SF
Mark Sanchez vs  HOU
Kevin Kolb at  STL
Russell Wilson at  CAR
Sam Bradford vs  ARI
Brandon Weeden at  NYG
Matt Hasselbeck at  MIN
Ryan Tannehill at  CIN
Blaine Gabbert vs  CHI
