NFL.com is reporting that Chargers receiver Vincent Brown will likely miss 8 weeks with a broken ankle he suffered against the Dallas Cowboys Saturday night; the ankle will require surgery.
Vincent Brown was having a camp to remember showing flashes of why the Chargers viewed him as the go to receiver to replace Vincent Jackson, and according to the site, there have even been "whispers" of Brown out playing fellow receiver Robert Meachem.
Vincent Brown has primarily been buried as an average 10th rounder according to fantasyfootballcalculator.com, and it is that sort of ADP that made him a very tasty value pick in nearly every format; especially given the recent news out of camp—now fantasy owners will have to look elsewhere for help that far down.
The 10th round isn't offering much in the way of receivers other than Green Bay's Randall Cobb, but a round earlier you can entertain taking Tennessee receiver Nate Washington who is certainly a steal at 9.09.
For internal solutions, Robert Meachem is all but guaranteed to now start opposite of Malcom Floyd, with Eddie Royal due to fill in at slot. Meachem is already figured as a seventh rounder, but with this news he is expected to climb the ranks just a bit, so if you were targeting him already, make sure to remember this situation.
Malcom Floyd is right behind Meachem in the eight round—I like Floyd better, and certainly feel he holds more value from the selection.
