Waiver wire in week 2 usually stems from injuries in week one, but one guy on my list was there right in front of you all along. Every Sunday instead of watching football, all fantasy football owners sit by their computers waiting to pick up the next back up quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards in the remaining 15 weeks. Scouting the waiver wire is just a part of winning your fantasy football league, just like drafting, trading and trash talk, the waiver wire needs to be understood and used to succeed in every league. We sent out several team changing waiver wire updates during the games Sunday that you missed it you were not subscribed to our waiver wire alerts!
Here is a list of the top waiver wire pickups for week 2:
Waiver Wire: Brandon Jackson, RB, Green Bay Packers: With Ryan Grant injured for at least week two, Jackson needs to be considered as a RB2 or flex spot, especially next week versus the Bills. We notified subscribers about Grants status minutes after ESPN released his doubtful status Monday @ 1:00 pm.
Waiver Wire: Michael Vick, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: Kevin Kolb is the number one quarterback in Philadelphia, but a concussion is still a concussion, and you just do not know with head injuries in the NFL. Kolb will not be allowed to practice till Friday, and the Eagles play the Lions at 1 P.M. on Sunday, I will take my chance picking up Michael Vick this week.
Waiver Wire: Austin Collie, WR, Indianapolis Colts: With 10 receptions and 131 yards this week versus the Texans, he just cannot be avoided if he is on the waiver this week. I know the Colts have tons of options, but with Garcon dropping passes, I like Collie in the upcoming weeks to catch a bunch of passes from Peyton Manning.
Waiver Wire: Nate Washington, WR, Tennessee Titans: Like I said in my first waiver wire article, Nate Washington will have an impact on this team, especially with teams packing the box to stop Chris Johnson. Defenses will be worrying about Kenny Britt and Washington will quietly do his thing all season long.
Waiver Wire: Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Seattle Seahawks: If you are in the need of a quarterback, this is my suggestion. I am not here to tell you to start Hasselbeck over any Manning, but I am here to tell two quarterback leagues he is a guy that needs to be considered [Pete Carroll looks like he is having too much fun to avoid].
Waiver Wire: Bo Scaife, TE, Tennessee Titans: He scored once this week, but what caught me eye was the looks he got from Vince Young. He should be a touchdown hog this year, if you are in need of a tight end [maybe if Kevin Boss is your tight end] I think Scaife can hit the end zone multiple times in the next few weeks.
Waiver Wire [UPDATE]: Dexter McCluster, WR/RB, Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs look like they are for real on the offensive side of the ball, scoring from many different options and McCluster seems to be one of the options Todd Haley is impressed with. As long as Dexter continues to impress with his return skills and his ambition for the end zone, I would definitely pick him up as soon as possible. ALSO… If you are in a IDP fantasy football league, see if Javier Arenas is available, he returns for KC and is a part of a defense that looks decent in week one versus San Diego.
