Week 15 TE Fantasy Football Rankings

December 11, 2012 by Greg Brosh

As we enter the Week 15 TE Fantasy Football Rankings, it's getting harder and harder to count on players not named Jimmy Graham and Jason Witten. After the last several weeks, I had pegged Thursday night's Jacob Tamme and Brandon Myers as 2 tight ends who were worthy of putting in as fantasy options, especially Myers. How wrong I was. Both players totaled a measly 3 catches for 31 yards. Tamme was one of those guys who caught fire recently, so it wasn't a total shock to see him come back down. But.........

I Really Worry About Brandon Myers' Value Going Forward

Over the past several waiver wire articles, I practically had to beg owners to add Myers to their fantasy football rosters. And coming off a 14/130/1 stat-line against the Browns in Week 13, I thought Myers was a shoe in for a big night against Denver. But something happened that really makes me worry about his value for the rest of the year. The Raiders got receivers not named Denarius Moore and Darrius Heyward-Bey more involved in the passing game. Coming into Week 14, Rod Streater and Juron Criner had a combined 44 receptions, 25 less than what Myers had all season alone. But against the Broncos, Streater saw a team-high 7 targets and converted them to 4 catches for 100 yards. Criner only caught 2 passes all night, but his playing time increased. Per Pro Football Focus, Myers ran just 21 routes and was in as a blocker on 12 plays. Against the Browns, he blocked a mere 5 times and ran 49 routes. A trend? It's too soon to say. With the Raiders out of the playoff race, this could be a sign that the coaching staff wants to see what they have in the 2 young wideouts. With Moore and DHB the pillar of inconsistency, it makes sense. Unfortunately, it has to come to the expense of Myers' role in the passing game. I have Myers ranked as a low-end TE1 since I am hoping last week was just a test. Not to mention the matchup against the Chiefs is favorable. But if it turns out that Myers is shut down again, owners may be scrambling for tight end help come Week 16.

Lets take a look at the Week 15 TE Fantasy Football Rankings. Like every week, make sure to check out the rest of our rankings in our RANKINGS SECTION (Including IDP).

Also, make sure to check the rankings again between now and Friday to see if anyone has moved up or down due to latest news and injuries.
