Hello Everybody. Welcome back for Week 3. I hope you all listened when I advised you to trade away Week 1 fantasy star, Adrian Peterson. Corey Davis is again a buy low since Mariota was out last week. Kareem Hunt and Kyle Rudolph also paid off if you invested in them after Week 1’s bad performance. When it comes to big stars, I advise you to not overreact.
Every week I try to give you a couple more under the radar players to trade away or trade for. I think everyone knows LeSean McCoy is in a bad place, or that Travis Kelce was going to bounce back after Week 1’s stinker. I try to name some player that could be good value, but it’s really up to you and what your team needs. Don’t be afraid to go for riskier players if you have the depth to do so or to take a little less than the optimal value to fill a void. There’s always the waiver wire to help reload your roster. with all that said, let’s get into Week 3.
Players I’m Buying
David Johnson: Two blowouts in two weeks. Things are looking pretty glum for 2016’s fantasy darling. With a total of only 20.8 points in the last two weeks combined, teams might be getting a little panicky. Bradford has been atrocious and I don’t look for him to start too much longer. Once Rosen gets the reins, I expect Johnson to perform better. A RB2 such as Ajayi, Collins or Drake would be a steal for a workhorse such as Johnson. I wouldn't feel too distressed giving up back end round 1 player either, as long as it isn't Barkley.
Quincy Enunwa: Featured as a must add in the waiver wire article last week, Enunwa is a perfect target. With 21 targets in the last two weeks, there is no doubt he’s Darnold’s guy. This may be your last chance before other players catch on to how good Enunwa has really been. With a matchup on deck with Cleveland, he may blow up after this week. Get him while you can. I would feel extremely fortunate if I were able to get him for a WR3 such as Agholor, Godwin, or Stills.
Jordan Reed: After a solid Week 1, Reed came back to earth a little bit. He still caught 6 balls for 55 yards but a lost fumble makes it look worse. Alex Smith is still acclimating in this offense and things haven’t seemed to click yet. Once things get figured out, it may be hard to pry Reed away. Even if Alex Smith doesn’t come around, all these checkdowns can only be good for Reed and Thompson. Trading a low-end TE1 and a WR4 would be perfect. Players like OJ Howard, Jesse James, Mike Williams, and Sterling Shepard should about cover it.
Players I’m Selling
Matt Brieda: It’s always hard to trade a player that you were confident in, and waited to blow up. But in Brieda’s case, a repeat performance isn't likely. Despite the huge day, Morris still had 14 carries and this is very much a timeshare. You should use Week 2’s blowup to try to get a more consistent contributor. Running Backs such as Lamar Miller, Marshawn Lynch, and Derrick Henry would be good targets.
Nelson Agholor: Right now Agholor is the #2 option in the Eagles high octane passing attack. Wentz is coming back this week and makes a good selling point for Agholor. In a few weeks, Alshon Jeffery will come back and reclaim his spot at the top of the pecking order. Right now you can return WR2 value for Agholor. Players such as John Brown, Enunwa, and Corey Davis make a great value.
Tevin Coleman: Coleman operated as the Top Dog in Atlanta’s backfield last week and looked dang good doing it. He had 20 touches for 125 impressive yards. He may have another week or two of starting time to milk if you choose, but I would personally trade him now while he’s hot. Freeman will be returning to the starting lineup soon and then this goes right back to a timeshare. If you're able to flip this temporary workhorse for a lower end RB1/high end RB2, jump on it. Maybe target the Mixon owner if he’s hurting after the news. If you can afford the hole in your roster, Mixon would be an excellent pickup. If you can’t, players such as Kenyan Drake, Jay Ajayi, and Carlos Hyde would be good options.
