Week 5 Wide Receiver Rankings: Keke’s Coming Out Party

October 3, 2018 by Jacob Trowbridge

If there's some common theme in fantasy football to latch onto so far this season, it's this: Offenses own the NFL. Teams are scoring touchdowns in bunches. Receivers are scooping up yards like they're in the granola aisle at Whole Foods. And it is awesome.

2018's offensive explosion probably makes you feel like you can start just about anybody in your WR slot, because they're going to get you double digit points no matter what. But don't get lulled into that false sense of security. Just because everyone's scoring oodles of fantasy points, doesn't mean there aren't better (and worse) options at the position. And that's reflected in this week's wide receiver rankings.

Target Monsters

Tyler Boyd was the focal point of the Bengals' passing attack against Atlanta, with 15 targets to show for it. Boyd is quietly averaging more targets than A.J. Green through four weeks.

Welcome back Marcus Mariota! And welcome to the show Corey Davis! Last year's 1st round draft pick was a magnet for the football. His 15 targets were more than he had in all the snaps with Blaine Gabbert under center. So long as Mariota is healthy, Davis is a must-start.

Another member of the 15 Target Club (not to be confused with the Target $15 Club, which offers incredible deals on home goods and apparel!) is Keke Coutee. In his rookie debut, slot dynamo Coutee led the Texans in targets and receptions. Granted, some of that was due to Will Fuller's early exit from the game due to a hamstring injury, but Coutee is someone to keep an eye on.
