Week 6 Wide Receiver Rankings: Chester Rogers Becoming A Thing?

October 11, 2018 by Jacob Trowbridge

Autumn's fully underway. The leaves are turning, the rain is pouring, and football teams are revealing their true identities. With the halfway mark in the season just over the horizon, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from our fantasy squads moving forward. Now is the time to cut bait with struggling players (cough, Chris Hogan) and snatch some rising stars (sneeze, Keke Coutee). Even if you're sitting pretty at 5-0, you should always be looking to level up your roster. Change with the seasons, brah. Hopefully this week's wide receiver rankings will help.

Target Monsters

Donte Moncrief had a league-leading 15 targets against the Chiefs. Unfortunately, he only caught 6 of them. With Leonard Fournette out, Blake Bortles has been chucking the ball a lot more. That should continue until Fournette gets back, but it's hard to say whether Moncrief will continue to be the focal point.

I think we all knew John Brown was the best receiver in the Ravens, but it seems the coaching staff (and Joe Flacco) finally realized it, too. Brown notched a season high 14 targets against Cleveland. This was the first week he saw more targets than Michael Crabtree, and that twinkle in Flacco's eye suggests it won't be the last.

Emmanuel Sanders has felt somewhat overlooked the last couple of weeks after starting the season off with a bang. But last week he turned 14 targets into 9 receptions for 72 yards. Sanders won't have it easy against the Rams this week, but should still see enough volume to warrant WR2 consideration.

Believe it or not, Chester Rogers is a thing in fantasy now. I know. I didn't want to acknowledge it either. But with 11 targets and 8 catches in each of his last 2 games, it's clear the Colts receiver is the main beneficiary of T.Y. Hilton's injuries.
