Week Five Bye-Week Blues

October 5, 2011 by Greg Brosh

Tony Romo and Jason Witten are two huge fantasy options that are on a bye in Week Five. Bench them.

I have gotten a few emails and forum questions regarding why players aren't being listed on our rankings. I have also gotten a few start/sit questions involving players who are on a bye week for Week Five.

This is one of the biggest blunders I have seen an owner make. Not remembering bye weeks start this week can be crushing to a fantasy roster and leave an owner looking for scraps on the waiver wire because he forgot to bench a player who isn't playing.

So here is a simple reminder of which players should be on your bench this weekend:

Baltimore Ravens: Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith, Ravens Defense

Washington Redskins: Rex Grossman, Ryan Torain, Roy Helu, Santana Moss, Jabar Gaffney, Fred Davis, Redskins Defense

St. Louis Rams: Sam Bradford, Steven Jackson, Brandon Gibson

Cleveland Browns: Colt McCoy, Peyton Hillis, Monterio Hardesty, Greg Little, Ben Watson, Mohamed Massaquoi

Dallas Cowboys: Tony Romo, Felix Jones, Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, Cowboys Defense

Miami Dolphins: Daniel Thomas, Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall, Davone Bess

There are obviously many more names that should be included in this list, especially kickers, but at least now you know not to be one of those guys who forgets that a stud or two on your team is off.

Check out our weekly player rankings for alternative options.

Let us know on which alternatives you are thinking of using in the comments below.
