Last weeks starts were 3 out of 4, I seriously faltered with my New England pick, Cleveland dominated that game from whistle to whistle. In terms of my sits, I also hit on 3 out of 4 with my lone bad sit going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who lost the game but stepped up defensively against Atlanta. Here is the team defense sit start for week 10.
Start ‘em: Week Ten Team Defenses
New York Jets @ CLE: After Cleveland just put a beating on New England in week 9, I expect the Jets to learn the mistakes of the struggling Patriots defense and come up with a “Rex Ryan” type scheme to make this one look easy. The Jets have not put up 20+ fantasy points as a defense since week 5, I see that trend ending this week.
Buffalo Bills vs DET: The Bills have been an up and down defense all season, but this week versus the Lions I see them stepping up, especially possibly facing Detroit without their starting quarterback in Matthew Stafford. The Bills, who are obviously winless, have been in every game they have played all season and that will be no different this Sunday versus the Lions.
Tennessee Titans @ MIA: The Titans are coming off of a bye in week 9, and they will be ready for Chad Henne and the Dolphins in week 10. With their new acquisition Randy Moss on the offensive side of the ball, the Titans will be fired up and ready for this game against Miami. The Titans defense have scored over 16 fantasy points in every game so far this season and I do not see that stopping versus the Dolphins in week 10.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs CAR: Coming off a close game versus the Falcons in week 9, Raheem Morris will have his team and defense ready for another divisional matchup versus the lowly Carolina Panthers. With tons of injuries all over the offensive side of the ball for Carolina, I just do not see how the Bucs could be caught off guard enough to not put up a ton of defensive fantasy points in week 10.
Sit ‘em: Week Ten Team Defenses
Dallas Cowboys @ NYG: I cannot stress this enough, I do not trust the Dallas Cowboys. I do not trust their Head Coach, their “new” quarterback and especially their defense. The Cowboys allowed 45 points on Sunday Night Football to the Packers, and have allowed a total of 121 points in their past three games. With the high-powered offense of the Giants coming up on the schedule, expect the Cowboys defense to collapse once again.
Houston Texans @ JAX: The Texans are statistically the worst pass defense in the NFL and with the Jaguars coming up off of a bye I do not see Houston’s numbers improving any time soon. The only knock of Jacksonville the past few weeks has been their health, and with a week to rest the Jaguars will be ready to attack the Texans like the rest of the teams on their schedule have been. Sit the Texans defense in week 10.
St. Louis Rams @ SF: With both of these teams coming off of byes in week 9, expect both squads to be healthy and very energetic for their divisional matchup in week 10. For the San Francisco 49ers, we all think that former Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith will be the starting quarterback again for week 10 and I think that is a positive thing for the 49ers. The Rams defense has looked good and young all season long, but going on the road in this divisional game I see SF looking good in back-to-back games.
Indianapolis Colts vs CIN: After seeing what Michael Vick and the Eagles were able to accomplish against the Colts at home, I like what I am going to see out of the Bengals in week 10. Carson Palmer is a passing yards monster and in this matchup he will rack them up quarter by quarter. The Colts are currently ranked 25th in rush defense, so look for Cedric Benson to have a big game in this matchup.
